The Shoestring Cafe
Have been there quite a few times and tried out their tasting menu this time. It never disappointed.Got the bread with lobster butter to start with, then four seafood dishes and the wine marinated quail. Really fresh seafood and quail was tender and juicy. We got really full after the 5 course and didn’t order any main or desert.Very attentive services and low key atmosphere for friend and family gatherings.

Got the 3 course set dinner and I was not disappointed. Appetizer, main entree and the dessert was really delicious. Service was awesome too. The pasta was also really good, the server mention they only use fresh ingredients only.

Ridiculously overpriced food. The seafood stew for $49 didn't look like a stew at all. The wait staff was very attentive.

Shoestring cafe is definitely an unique bistro that really blown me away. The location as well as the exterior of the cafe was farrrr from fancy. It's location in the middle of industrial area and banner looks old and a little run down. The interior was extremely simple, it kinda gave me an old Irish pub vibe. Menu was very simple with good selections of meat poultry and seafood options. They also offer to include an appetizer and a dessert with just $20 added to any entree. However they don't have liquor license so unfortunately no alcoholic drinks are offered here.When our dishes showed up I was really impressed with the portion of food we have. There r a lot of details put into each side that came with the entree as well. Dessert was fabulous as expected. This bistro is operated by an Asian couple. Service was tentative and personal. The owner shared that everything was made from scratch. And they put a lot of thoughts into their rotating menu so there will always be fresh ingredients and client will always have different options.So one thing I learned from this little cafe is that don't judge a restaurant by its look. Shoestring cafe is a definitely a community spot that worth a trip.

Came here for Dine Out and it was impressive how consistent the meal looks. It was overly busy and I could tell the staffs were a bit overwhelmed. We were patience, as we understand how hectic it looked. Food overall excellent. I would come back during non-Dine Out again.

Surprisingly good braised lamb shank! My partner ordered a Ribeye steak and was also impressed with how perfect it was cooked.The ambiance is a little dated and feels like it doesn’t go well with how the food looks. The place looks like a simple cafe but their food looks like it came from a fancy steakhouse.

Food is okay. I mean it's good but nothing amazing. Big portion. A combo is about $60 with an appy, an main and a dessert. Service is okay too. Not sure will come back because I find nothing special here.

We were here for a birthday dinner so most of us got the meal set. I was excited because I wanted to try the duck breast - my brother got the lamb. The duck breast ended up being really disappointing because it was dry and flavourless. The lamb (not part of the set offer) was the best entree between everyone. The appetizer bread was fresh and warm and seafood chowder was generously sized and creamy. I thought the panna cotta was alright and better than the lava cake. Overall, service wasn’t very good but the restaurant was clean. It was a unique place to try, but it’s also overpriced for the quality because I had high hopes based on the prices and review photos.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a wonderful experience.The staff are very friendly and helpful. We are so impressed with the crab cake with fresh crab meat in it. Everything taste so good and We will definitely come back to try other menu!
