Rodney Hobson Karate Academy

I go to the teen/ adult class. The classes are really fun yet educational, the Karate sparring games we play and perform are all different, inventive, and creative. The techniques we learn provide us with self-discipline, agility, and balance. Self-defense methods are also taught in the most clear manner. The best part about the dojo is the bubbly environment we have there, there are always burst-out-laughing moments, random IQ quizzes just to keeps us on our toes, and awesome back and forth bantering. The senseis are really supportive to all age groups and levels. Also the senseis are beyond qualified

After his first week there in after school care we knew we made the best decision. You have made him feel a part of a large family. He is so proud of all hes accomplished there as are we and for the first time he comes home happy and content.You are all rock stars in my eyes!!

My 6 yo has been part of the rhka community for the last 18 months. He has gained so much confidence and looooves going to his karate classes. We moved from Joe Rich to West Kelowna a couple of months ago and still drive twice a week across town to attend classes. Rodney and his team are amazing and this community has been so supportive!

If I could post 10 stars I would. Not only is Rodney Sensei amazing with kids of all ages teaching to their abilities and pushing them harder to achieve their goals but also the Sempei's or advanced students are truly incredible with the younger kids including my son. My son has learned to feel confident and has become more disciplined due to the influence of this dojo and all their mentors. I can't recommend this place more. We left once when we moved and tried other dojos but realized rhka is really about community spirit and karate spirit unlike other dojos which focus more on bells and whistles. We are so happy to have a mentor like Rodney Sensei! Also Coreen Hobson is also amazing running the after school program and cares genuinely about the kids. It was the best after school program my son has had because they have so much fun but also work on their karate each day!

We love RHKA!! It has helped our kids develop life skills in so many ways. They have respect, confidence, patience, individual as well as team skills and so much more! Sensei Rod and Coreen are completely committed to helping these kids become amazing young adults. Would highly recommend RHKA.

RHKA is an amazing karate academy. It has tons of class options, and teaches not only fitness, but self-defense, respect, discipline and confidence. My two kids have been going for over a year now, and both continue to love it and have so much fun. The Sensei's and Sempei's are incredible, keep kids engaged and most importantly have fun. My son has thrived under the support and mentorship found here. So much dedication to the kids, so much fun, exceptional organization and creativity. I can not celebrate RHKA enough.

I used to go here in the fifth and sixth grade and it was my favourite part of the dayAll the kids there are always really niceDespite me being in 10th grade now I still rememeber pretty much everything I learnt in KarateI used to pout about going to karate on some days because I didnt really enjoy running but always after we finished the warm up I was happy and ready to do whatever we were doing that dayI really wish I still went to RHKAUpdate:I go to karate again :D

RHKA is a great place to train for kids and adults alike. Personally our family has been involved for about eight years, and not only have my husband and son trained in Karate, we have some amazing memories from trips across the country for really fun tournaments every two years and a whole pile of local events where not only the students were invited and participants, but our entire family has made some great friends and had fun along the route. Now they offer after school care that includes karate, friendship and fun - kinda wish my son wasn't too old to attend! RHKA is a really good place to be, for anyone.
