Heavy D's Barbershop - Nanaimo Barber

Been in to see Jonolle twice now for a cut, fade and beard trim and both times he had me leaving fresh! I can tell he’s really mastered his craft , his attention to detail is on point and really takes his time to make sure everything is perfect.Overall the shop has a great vibe , everyone is really nice to talk to to and it’s just a cool place to hang out and get cleaned up!This is the only spot I’ll go in Nanaimo now!

My husband comes here and loves it. My father is a veteran who struggles to go to appointments and trust new people to help him and his appointment was an excellent experience. His first haircut from a shop in probably 20 years and he’s already talking about going back. Thanks for the awesome service

I've been seeing Sabeana at Heavy D's for a few months now and she gives by far the best Straight Razor Shave I have gotten anywhere in Nanaimo, while also giving a pristine Fade Cut at any length you could ask for. Her shave skills are so smooth I could fall asleep while she shaves me. She is nothing short of an Artist while also being an extremely laid back and chill person to be around. The owner Dan has created a super chill and inviting environment for adults looking for the laid back experience of an old school barber shop, with all the modern amenities.

From the moment we walked into Heavy D's, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The shop itself had a cool and modern vibe, with great music playing in the background. Deegan's barber was attentive and patient, making sure to listen to exactly what Deegan wanted for his haircut.The attention to detail was impeccable - every strand of hair was perfectly trimmed, and the end result was exactly what Deegan had envisioned. He walked out of the shop with a huge smile on his face and a newfound confidence.Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Heavy D's Barber Shop. The staff was professional, skilled, and friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Cool spot with very friendly barbers. I've had one great haircut and one mediocre haircut. But the service was always friendly, just need to find the Barber that does it right for you.

In just a few years Heavy D has come a long way. From Shear Agony (probably a very accurate description for his time there as well lol) to opening his own shop in Departure Bay and building a team of great barbers. You definitely can't miss booking yourself in at Heavy D's, so what are you waiting for?

I absolutely refuse to get my hair cut anywhere else but Heavy D’s. I’ve been seeing Dan for a couple years now and he’s hands down the best barber I’ve ever been to. Quality service and excellent atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for a better experience at Heavy D’s. 11/10 recommend !
