If I could rate this company 0 stars, I would.Trying to get a hold of anyone is next to impossible. I waited on call for over half an hour only to finally get to speak to someone. As soon as I tried explaining why I phoned, the person hung up. I phoned back, waited another 30 min to find out that they would not handle my claim because I was forced into picking a date. That date was apparently outside the 2 year window. Had I known about the window, I may have actually tried to figure out when the incident happened. Additionally, someone I spoke with said I was covered as per my policy, but upon speaking with another individual, I was informed they would not cover me. After attempting to cancel my policy, I was put on hold for another 30 min as I write this.On top of all this, when I did manage to file a claim back in December, I was continuously contacted by someone from the company asking the same question I answered the day the claim was first put through, when I picked up my vehicle, when they phoned me a couple weeks later to ensure everything was completed, and again two months later when they phoned for the information yet again. Apparently being informed of the answer 4+ times via voice and text (email) was insufficient. Although, this information could be gleaned from the shop that fixed my vehicle and provided the insurance company with the amount.And again, my insurance climbed drastically every year despite a clean driving record and no claims for 10 years.TL;DR: Do not use this company. They are rude, non-responsive when they are needed, harassing when already provided with the answer, and overall unpleasant to deal with. Save yourself $10 on Advil and go with another insurance company.

It is absolutely impossible to get through to this company by phone.There are several phone numbers and they are all non-existent.Also my home policy has climbed up $360 a year, therefore if I can EVER contact anybody I am cancelling.There live" chat is also non-existent.If there was anything less than one star that's what I would be rating this company."

I had originally switched my home insurance to this company because they offered a discount rate to my wife's professional association. But after switching my rate was not much less than my previous insurance cost. I have been with them for three years now and I have never made a claim and yet my rate kept rising each year. Anytime I had to contact them it was a slow process as I had to wait on hold and navigate automated menus. Now I have switched to another insurance company and have saved nearly $300/year for the same coverage. As a final assurance that I have made the correct choice, when I tried to return the call that they made to me regarding cancellation of my policy the number they left for me to call back was no longer in service.

I just phoned Johnson Insurance to cancel my Medoc travel insurance until September 2021 as we aren't travelling due to Covid-19 and the agents I encountered were very helpful and understanding. They were professional and very courteous. It was a pleasure working with them!

I recently purchased MEDOC out of province travel coverage through Johnson Insurance and have found them to be courteous and professional with excellent rates. I find they always answer calls promptly and have all the information to my questions. Today I contacted MEDOC with an inquiry and spoke with Courtney who was truly professional and a pleasure to deal with and she took the time to explain things clearly and straightforward to me. Because of the service I've received, I've recommended several friends to Johnson Insurance and MEDOC.

Worst experience with Johnson. I'd been a client for more than two years (never missed a payment, never made a claim) when I called several months ago to ask about any additional coverage I might require to temporarily rent my home for four months (starting in November) while I travelled out of the country. They told me that while additional coverage would definitely be required, they didn't carry that kind and I'd have to find a different insurance company.Fair enough, but I had plenty of time and hadn't gotten around to it yet. Last week (September 1), I received a registered letter from Johnson notifying me they'd be suspending my policy in 15 days. The reason provided: short term rental. I hadn't rented my home yet and wouldn't be for another two months, but rather than letting me arrange new coverage and then cancel the current policy myself, they just cancelled it. No warning, no explanation.To make matters worse, they start the 15-day clock on the day the letter reaches the post office, not the day I pick it up and sign for it, so that left me 12 days (including the Labour Day long weekend) to arrange alternate coverage. I found a new insurance company and they're scrambling to get the necessary quotes, but there's a very real possibility that my home will be left uninsured for one or more days.When I called Johnson (at first to protest and then again to plead for the tiniest bit of flexibility to allow me to fix the problem they'd created by cancelling my policy without cause), they were completely unresponsive. Not interested in being the least bit helpful or even apologetic.If they treat a client in good standing this way, I can't imagine how they'd behave if I ever needed to make a claim. I used to recommend Johnson all the time because they had friendly helpful staff and great rates, but it's just not worth it.
