No as good as the given reviews. The rice was too hard and dry, the cucumber in the role was literally just hard skin, not the actual customer. The sashimi and sushi were also not the best quality. You overpay for what you get. Not to mention here is the first sushi place I got my green tea as Tea-bag

This place seems understaffed. When I went in there was no one around and I had to wait a bit for someone to come out front.Anyway... The Maki teishoku lunch set meal was ok. The side dishes are really just regular Korean banchan (that come free at Korean restaurants!), and it didn't seem like a lot of food. Glass noodles, seaweed salad and 2 small pieces of fish cake.My double salmon Maki was serviceable. There's everything you would expect from a sushi roll and it does the job if you just want to eat sushi without any fuss.My overall experience was a resounding eh"."

Came here for a work lunch and got the chicken teriyaki lunch Teishoku. The special came with many different banchans/ sides, as well as miso soup and salad. Everything was delicious and I loved the variety. The service was fast and friendly, perfect for a quick work lunch within an hour. My favourite things were the minimal and elegant interior atmosphere and the gorgeous utensils. Looking forward to returning to try their happy hour menu!

ARA is fantastic! Small but delightful! Only had lunch here but definitely would return for dinner.The lunch ARA special is delicious. The pork is perfectly done, kimchi had balanced acidity and spice, glass noodles were chewy and flavourful.

Place had a nice interior and good vibes for a up scale Japanese restaurant. The sashimi cuts were thicc and fresh. I'd also recommend the Spicy salmon oshizushi as they mix in some garlic with the fish that enhances the flavour.

Beautifully simple Japanese cuisine that is focused and well executed. Service is outstanding even on a busy day, the staff really work as a team to provide the best service possible. Highly recommend the lunch specials!

I’ve walked past this place many times and so my husband and I decided to go in and check it out. They had a happy hour which we were happy about.The ambiance is nice and welcoming. The staff were very friendly. The overall service was excellent. We only had a drink and a small appetizer, but it was delicious, and came out quickly.We will definitely be going back to try more food!

There's a calm and intimate atmosphere - perfect for dates. The food is colourful and plated delicately. The ingredients are all very fresh. Cocktails are also recommended!

Love this place! It’s super modern and delicious with good quality ingredients. We went for the first time and had the lunch special this afternoon. We both went for the Maki lunch special which offered a special maki roll (we did Volcano roll and green dragon maki) which came with miso soup, salad, fried vegetables, shrimp tempura. We also got the salmon pressed sushi which was touched salmon on rice with spicy mayo. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I love Ara so, so, so much. The one sushi spot in Toronto that never lets me down! If you’re looking for a plain and simple maki roll, Ara does it best. I’ve come time and time again and their fish is always quality, whether it be in a roll or served as sashimi. The Teishoku set is also definitely worth trying! A super fun Japanese meal experience that you can’t really get anywhere else in the city. Along with that, the banana pudding and korean fried chicken are some of my other favorites here. My friends and I are students and their maki rolls are super affordable given their quality, and although the restaurant has a pretty classy vibe, it’s a chill, down to earth spot where we always feel welcome. The service is always above and beyond- all the waitstaff are super kind! I’d also highly recommend the happy hour at Ara- cheap and quality portions of food as well as drinks. I love you Ara!! ❤️❤️
