I went to this place today and I was pleasantly surprised for the most part.The service was very nice, the server could answer any questions I asked, she was very knowledgeable and polite. The only complaint(if it could be called a complaint) would be that she neglected to tell us her name. Would've loved to call her out for her exceptional service.Appetizers were good, just filling enough for the main course. I had chicken karaage and cream cheese wontons. Very delicious, probably slightly more enjoyable than the main dish but that's because I love deep fried food.For the main dish I ordered the chefs choice sushi platter, my cousin got the sashimi platter. It was good enough that I couldn't tell if most of the sushi was frozen previously or not....MOST of the sushi that is. Despite what some of these reviews say, I know for sure that the regular salmon(not wild) has been frozen before. That's okay though, everything tasted delicious.Everything was pleasant, nothing stood out as amazing but I would come here again for some of the only good sushi in Edmonton.

One of the few places you can get delicious, authentic sushi for a decent price (like Vancouver) in Edmonton. Amazing and I come here almost every week, it’s that good. Great addition to downtown!

Shoyu Sushi was good! The two best items were the sashimi and the cucumber salad! The menu had great selection, however, the price was slightly too steep in my personal opinion. I would have sprung for a sushi restaurant that offers all you can eat.

Beautifully plated, delicious food. Generous portions. Staff that cares about your experience. Being greeted at the entry way us huge for my family and I. This place has my heart and I'm so lucky to live so near them. We've been to this location three times so far and each experience we try something different. Their cucumber salad is fancy and makes a great appetizer for a party of 2-3 people. I highly recommend their momo peach sake ($30ish) because it's sweet like juice and delicious!

This place is beautiful, clean and has an amazing atmosphere, our server was so nice and helpful, the food was delightful, nigiris were amazing specially smoked salmon and scallops, the volcano roll was spicy and tasty, we had pork ramen and seafood ramen, my favorite was spicy tonkotsu, we will come back for more item from the menu. Finally the prices are excellent according to portions and flavor.

Went here on a whim. And I am glad me and my friend did! Servers were great and attentive and the food all tasted great! I took off a star because they were quite heavy on the rice and its totally not needed! Food was really tasty and good portions minus the super thick rice they had on them. I wanted to give 5 stars but the rice ratio was too much! If they fix that, and i’m sure they will, it will be a great sushi place! The hamachi sashimi and the volcano roll (minus the thick rice) was fantastic!!! Definitely a place i will recommend to friends to try!

Service was amazing! Server seemed young but she was very engaging and attentive :) My family loved my server and really added on into the warm atmosphere in the restaurant :DThe food was fresh and hot and the serving is actually pretty big. There were only 6 volcano rolls, but one is already very filling and they weren’t going cheap on the filling of each sushi rolls either. Definitely worth the money! As well as, the spicy crispy dynamite roll! Got me dancing by how flavourful everything was.I recommend the spicy tonkotsu ramen! It’s very filling and the meat was very tender. The takoyaki was piping hot when served, so it’ll definately take time to cool down, but once it does, it is sooo fresh!I’ll be coming back with my friends to try more stuff!!! :3

My friend and I loved it!!! It was delicious. We will be back for sure.Just 2 recommendations.The sashimi , my friend felt it should served over ice. We both thought it would Bice to have Japanese music playing.The staff was extremely friendly and they explained and answered our questions.Other than that!! Wow my Hawaiian roll was the best thing ever!!!

Tonight was my first time visiting for a to go order. I got the dynamite rolls and cream cheese wontons. Both were so good and definitely fresh. Prices are great, I did wait for about 30 mins so if I was in a rush, I’d recommend calling to order first.The lady that took my order was really friendly, offered me a seat and ice water while I wait for my order. Definitely recommend!

Ordered with Uber eats. Absolutely disgusting. Food was soggy. Too much sauce very disappointing. Ordered a brown sugar bubble tea that came as milk no brown sugar. Safe to say I won’t be back
