Safe Haven Youth Services

This place is a great place. As a parent, I am grateful that they offer respite on top of a shelter for homeless youth under 18. They offer emergency services for youth that need it as well as planned respite. The place is clean and large. It is truly a safe place. They have programming (DBT & Lifeskills). No phones allowed within the building (they are locked up) unless you are on a “break” and leave the building. Such a nice break from the outside world. The staff are amazing with both the parent and the youth. Staff plan respite so that my youth is not there at the same time as other youths from their school etc. For privacy purposes. The only downfall is that there might be a poor influence staying there at the same time, but that can happen anywhere they go (school etc.)

I was there for a 2 week program. Staff are extremely forgetful and un organized. And do not know how to properly deal with situations in a proper and fair matter, often times the rooms are okay but they forget and mess up medications (I have epilepsy ) and cannot miss these meds. When asking for something important they disregard it and often times fail to meet other youths needs.My experience was an awful one and I wouldn’t want to go back even if I was handcuffed

I had the unfortunate experience of trying to help a young lady with housing. Safe Haven and T" were very helpful in facilitating and explaining things. They seem to truly care to keep youth off the streets

Service was great they are amazing people and amazing youth. But I think they make kids go home sometimes before they are ready; I think it should be a long term shelter. Because kids feel like its more like home than any other place

I had a great time there, I would suggest people to go here, the staff are very friendly and nice.
