Kyo Bar Japonais
Very nice atmosphere inside especially at night. Cozy and low lighting with comfortable seating. The first time we tried our own makis, second time we chose chef’s choice for makis and it wasn’t as good as our own, even presentation wise. The hot fish and meat dishes are very good on the other hand. Generous portions for the sashimis is a good plus. Would recommend for a date or a small group of friends’ hangout.

Kyo was an fabulous experience. We had a group of 6 as a bachelorette party and the evening was great. Jacob was an awesome waiter who was attentive and always ensured we had what we needed. The service was truly amazing. The food was delicious, from the nigiri to the chicken karaage, you can’t go wrong with anything at Kyo. As a sushi lover, I thought the sushi was so fresh and you can tell careful preparation is done to ensure this. I’d highly recommend and hope to return next time I’m in Montreal!

The rolls were great! They were made with fresh, great quality ingredients and were very delicious, perfectly sized, and with pleasant balance of tastes and textures. However, our server was impatient and not very polite with us. She left us twice, right in the middle of our questions and while we were still speaking to her.Please note that the restaurant's price range is above average and it tends to get quite busy, even though Google Maps may show it as not too busy"."

Fabulous experience and such beautiful food. Our server Jess was so helpful with dairy and gluten dietary questions. The donuts, chef's choice, sake, shitake, ... All of it so good. Will definitely be back.

Had diner for my birthday with a friend; great time ! Food is high quality and service is excellent. I received great advice when choosing food I did not know. Jess served our table.Other really enjoyable aspects: there is nice lounge music and the overall noise is not too loud and allows to have conversation!

The waiter we had was funny, direct, kind, and knowledgeable of the menu. One of our drinks never made it to the table but the restaurant was busy so it's understandable.Believe it or not the Sushi is actually not all that incredible here. In fact that is the one thing I recommend you pass when ordering. The fish is fine but the rice is overcooked leaving you with this kind of mushy starch paste in your mouth.4 stars

Without a doubt, deserving of Best in TripAdvisor awards of the year. The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. The ambiance is warm and comfortable, and music is at the right volume, which is a perfect environment for lunch. Sadly, I did not have the opportunity to try the dinner menu, but lunch menus are impeccable. Price is reasonable for the quality and service. Would recommend for anyone at any time.Part 2: Now, how can I possibly refuse such an invitation for dinner. Today, on April 22nd, I decided to drop by and request a dinner table. With great anticipation and empty belly, I browse through the menu, and with great surprise, i noticed my favorite appetizer is on the menu. Since this is my first dining experience, I ordered a salad entry with one serving of Takoyaki. As for my main, I request chefs' choice of 15 sushi and additional rolls for trying.Not to my surprise, it was all I was hoping for. Great qualities sushi for its price. I have been to many sushi restaurants, most of them are quantity over quality, and some time it's not even worth eating. It's very rare to find such an amazing restaurant that respect it's ingredients and delivers it to your guests with care. Byian, our waiter, was exceptional helpful and always close by even during rush hour, providing me with great service.I may have gone long enough. Needless to say, Kyo is now my top 5 favorite restaurants, and I would 100% come back.P.S. Do keep in mind my follow University students, the restaurants is service great, amazing sushi that is equivalent to its pricing. It is not your everyday dinner or lunch place. It's more like your I'll take you out on a date..." Kind of restaurants.Thank you for your hospitality

I was very excited to try Kyo. The venue is very attractive. We had cocktails to start which were lovely. The food was beautifully presented. In general I enjoyed the food but didn't love it. It probably comes down to personal preference but I thought the rolls tasted too sweet. The temptation roll almost tasted like a pudding with lemon curd. Staff were attentive but occasionally too attentive, clearing the dish as soon as we'd taken the last piece of sushi but before we'd managed to add wasabi and ginger. This is personal preference and just being picky. Overall we had a pleasant evening.

For being near old port (aka touristy area) and attached to a hotel I thought it was solid. Not cheap but not outrageous. Wasn’t my first plan for dinner but with a crazy storm that hit, it was close and available so gave it a try. Got the miso soup and the udon noodles with chicken and mushrooms in a peanut sauce. I enjoyed the food. The sushi coming out looked good too. Definitely not as memorable as the rest of the food I’ve had this trip but a solid meal nonetheless
