I just got here from the US so can't compare, but the prices are great compared to Virginia & my vivino app loves the wines I looked at. They take credit cards.

The SAQ is a government monopoly and it shows in their limited selection. Fortunately, I'm able to visit Europe on a regular basis, so I can sample a much larger variety of wines, whiskeys, gins, sherrys, etc. Nevertheless, there is a resonance selection at the SAQ that perhaps satisfies most of their clientele. Prices are not that good though. I'm sure any local sommelier will cringe to this, but I miss the very drinkable $3 / 750ml bottles of wine that you can get in Italy, and their $1.50 bottles are great for cooking.

Can't seem to want to carry bags for their customers. Odd, they're losing business because of it. I guess top brass never heard of paper bags.

Of course they ask you for your ID when you are obviously over 30 year old ( i even took out my inspire card), without counting the fact I was older than the guy working at the cash register. This is freaking ridiculous and not a way to treat your customers...

Only store that sells you hard alcohol in Montreal. Their selection is pretty complete and you'll find a wider selection at the SAQ, you got it, selection. Attention is very slow sometimes but you always get what you need.
