Our most special day was one we’ll never forget, and we’ll always cherish how we felt and how stress-free the entire day was.To any couples out there planning a wedding, we highly recommend Michelle and Shing Weddings. From the early planning stages to our wedding day, Michelle had been with us every step of the way and had honed in on every detail, minor or major. We believe she must have been in the military in a previous life because of her unbelievable attention to detail, and ability to execute a lengthy 20-hour wedding day event, with that intense and accurate military-precision. Everything was coordinated flawlessly, from the photographers and videographers, emcees, hair and makeup team, florist and decor, photobooth, DJ, venue reception, to the installation of the dance floor. We celebrated our special union at three locations, and each event was a huge success.My hard-to-please Vietnamese parents were super impressed by everything, which if you know Asian parents, this speaks volumes. We all know wedding celebrations are expensive, and we couldn’t imagine spending all that money and leaving it up to chance about how the day will go. We needed insurance, and that insurance was Michelle and the Shing Team. We felt entirely at ease and had zero stress in the days leading up to the wedding and on our wedding day. We only felt overwhelming love and joy. Shing Weddings was the best investment we made in our wedding, and we received an immeasurable return on the investment.It was quite the daunting task of planning a 200-person wedding at three venues but Michelle helped guide us through every step. No question was too silly and no detail was too insignificant. Lisa is absolutely amazing!! We can't thank her enough for what she has done! Initially we were not sure if hiring a wedding planner is a good idea to begin with, but trust me, having Lisa as our wedding planner made our wedding into a completely different game. She made our wedding felt like a giant birthday party that we both were looking forward to instead of being stressed about. And most importantly, we both got to enjoyed the wedding a lot as we knew we could trust her on getting all the hard work behind the scene done. From the very start to finish, she was on top of every single little details, booking, setup, execution. Nothing was falling behind. The entire process was stress-less, all we had to do was to dress up and show up to the venue on the day of. I can't imaging how our wedding would have turned out without Lisa.And agree with other comments, Proactive" is the word to describe Lisa and her team. She selflessly took extra miles to get things done before we even worried about."

Lisa and the Shing team are absolutely the best! Right out the gate, the experience was very organized. Lisa got to really know our personalities and likes, worked with our busy schedule, and knew when to prompt when needed (.. we are slow responders haha). She gave great suggestions on vendors and tried to watch our total spend constantly. The level of care and attention was truly appreciated and it really made our wedding day such a memorable one, we wished the day never ended! Thank you so very much, Lisa and the Shing team!

Absolutely a dream to work with and made everything seamless and less stressful so you can actually enjoy the wedding process. From signing on with the team and having Michelle be a guiding support to the dedication for details helping us be set up and create the smoothest wedding day possible, we highly recommend this professional, genuine and fun team!The attention to detail and soft reminders in the months leading up to the wedding, Michelle has been amazing to work with and plan with. She along with the team that day helped make sure to get our vision for the day just right. It's helped me, as a perfectionist and who's run large work and fundraising events, feel so at ease I even had a moment to close my eyes and rest. Having Nancy to support the morning and early afternoon activities as the bridal assistant, I felt completely taken care of especially to help when we needed to take photos and getting to the right places at the right time. Alex was also amazing - not only was he there when we needed someone to look after our pup after the ceremony but also he without question drove two of our family home when the car service / taxi was not available just to make sure they got home safe at the end of the night. Shing Weddings helped us plan our wedding on July 2, 2023. Michelle and her team were amazing. Throughout the entire process, Michelle was always on top of every decision that had to be made. She gave us multiple choices for every vendor and venue to help us prepare the best wedding possible. She was responsive at all hours of every day in case we ever had any questions. She was very easy to work with and always put us at ease if we were stressed out about anything. As we approached the day, Michelle created a detailed timeline down to the minute for everyone including vendors, wedding party members, emcee, and our parents. On the day of the wedding, Michelle and her wonderful team made sure we were taken care of every minute of the day from 9:00am until midnight. The entire wedding was beautiful and ran so smoothly thanks to Michelle’s dedication and attention to detail. We were so happy with how everything turned out, and felt that we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day of. I would definitely recommend working with Shing Weddings and especially Michelle for anyone looking to have their perfect wedding.

I am not sure if words can ever be enough to express the immense gratitude I have for Lisa, Michelle and the team at Shing Weddings but I will try. Firstly, Lisa, Michelle & the team, you are truly the best. I couldn’t be more grateful. I decided to have a wedding just 4 months ago. I had a vision of what I wanted & dream of. I was specific with how I envision the wedding to be, I knew where I wanted it to be. But it was also a challenging job - being a post pandemic year, a year with the most weddings ever, and therefore comes with several challenges in getting vendors, timeframe, etc. From day 1, I met Lisa, she listened with great attentiveness & then with great enthusiasm with her bright personality. Even before I engaged her services, she had already been so helpful & honest with her suggestions and opinions. I knew she was going to be the one. Throughout the four months, she cared so much about my wedding, as if it was her own happiness. She helped us navigate through the whole planning seamlessly. I was most impressed on the day of my wedding. Lisa, Michelle & the team were absolutely incredible with their attentiveness to every detail. EVERY DETAIL from the morning of till the evening. The wedding was flawlessly executed & everything went smoothly as planned, exactly the way I had envisioned it to be. Because of them, I really got to enjoy the my wedding, to be able to soak it all in and it was the most beautiful day ever. I am beyond grateful for Lisa and her team at Shing Weddings! Every time I talk to my family, friends and colleagues about my wedding planning experience, I tell them that hiring Lisa was the BEST wedding investment ever! From our first meeting, Lisa was very attentive, positive and professional. She made wedding planning so much easier and stress-free. She took care of every little detail and kept us on track with our budget and timeline. We are extremely happy with the Full Wedding Planning Experience provided by Lisa and her team at Shing Weddings, who helped us plan our wedding in Vancouver while we live in Toronto. The true value in Lisa and her team was not only the flawless execution but also her ability to translate our vision and personality into the event itself. We received an overwhelming amount of praise from all our guests, friends and families alike, especially commenting on how the wedding was authentically us.Lisa is very knowledgeable about the industry and it is evident that she is truly passionate with her work. Food is very important to us and is something that we want our wedding to stand out for, and we are happy that Lisa came with a lot of experience managing catering services from her previous career. She reached out to our favorite restaurants to potentially provide catering for our wedding, and we saw her guide a restaurant owner to develop a sample menu and a quote. After we decided not to engage with the restaurant owner, Lisa helped us find the right catering company, and worked with them to develop a customized menu which reflected our taste. Our review is simplifying the process as there were so many details that Lisa was working through with our caterer and other vendors. Details as trivial as changing plates after serving the fish, yet so important as these are the details that elevated the guest experience and without a professional planner like Lisa, they are easily overlooked by the couple.On our wedding day, we were so grateful for the presence of Lisa and her day-of-coordination team (Alex, Jocelyn, Jon and Tim). Before the day, our friends and family kept warning us that it is normal for the couple to have no time to eat, and feel hungry and exhausted during the whole day. However, Lisa’s team made us feel so pampered and stress-free that we were able to thoroughly enjoy the whole day while staying reasonably fed and hydrated. There was always someone on her team ready to hold our bouquet or drinks when a conversation with guests turned into a quick group photo. They always found the perfect breaks between our interactions with guests or songs on the dance floor, to feed us a quick bite, top up our drinks or to offer water. Lisa’s team is highly experienced and prepared for any “emergencies” that could happen on a wedding day. Two of our guests ripped their pants (because we were having so much fun!) and Lisa was prepared to come to their rescue.Last but not least, Lisa genuinely cares for her couples. During the planning process, when we sought her advice when our out-of-town guests with a toddler had a question, Lisa went above and beyond to personally help with their situation; and when we received disagreements on certain details from our family, Lisa offered her perspective from past experience and gave thoughtful advice which helped us arrive at amicable solutions. After the wedding, we also learned from our guests that we were not the only ones that got fed with quick bites on the dance floor by Lisa. All our family and friends adore Lisa and we all had the greatest time. We can’t recommend her enough to anyone planning a wedding in Vancouver!
