Trapped Halifax

Our first experience was a 3-star, with customer service from the staff member lacking. That said, when this was mentioned to the owner, they graciously offered us a discount and encouraged us to come back.When we returned, we had the most wonderful experience! 5-star! The two guys working were helpful and friendly, and the room was super challenging. We will definitely be back!

It was my first escape room and I found the setting pretty real. We went for the Medieval themed challenge and only managed to solve 2 puzzles and eventually failed to make it out. They help you nicely with clues though. All in all great place.

We did the contaminated hospital and it was so much fun. The puzzles were challenging but still fun. I did it with two of my friends and we are 16ish and we still escaped. Great staff amazing time.

Trapped Halifax offers great escape room adventures for you and your friends! Choose from one of the many themed rooms, I've done the Egyptian and Pandemic themed ones and they are very engaging - much fun would recommend! Make sure to arrive in advance so you don't use any of your escape time.

I've done a couple rooms here (Death Note and the Contaminated Room) and both were disappointing. The suggested player number was inflated both times. Both rooms heavily employed the user of a computer and there was little to nothing else to occupy participants not on the computer.The story wasn't great and the space seems generally a bit neglected. (some props not in good shape: and the spot where you wait before beginning the escape room looks like a catch-all storage space.The staff were super friendly and energetic though. Nothing but good things to say about the ladies who were working there.

The wife and I did this the other night and although we failed , and not by much, we had a blast !! Lots of fun to team up and figure out the problems needed to be solved!!

This escape room experience did not live up to expectations. We did an Egyptian-themed room that was a bit basic compared to other rooms we've done in Halifax/Dartmouth and elsewhere. Frankly we expected much better production value and more intricate, multi-stage puzzles from a business with so many locations across Canada. Unfortunately, our walkie-talkie was apparently disfunctional (shouldn't this have been checked beforehand?) and the staff didn't respond to us after 20+ minutes of asking for a clue. We only heard from them after we had run out of time and they came into the room. We were quite disappointed as the staff only offered 5 additional minutes and didn't offer any sort of compensation/partial refund given their equipment failure (we were told it was a range issue...). Again, we expected better from a business this large that clearly has been doing this for awhile.If you're looking for a unique experience, try a different escape room provider in town – we've enjoyed the experiences they offer much more than Trapped. I'd also advise avoiding this location for teambuilding and corporate events – our room was too small and too basic despite being designed for up to 7 people. I think these guys could do a bit better.

My friends and I (total 5) did the Medieval Prison room this past summer. Overall, it was a good experience, and the staff were very kind, however the room itself did not quite live up to expectations.Though some may enjoy this aspect, I found it disappointing that instead of the room having a logical progression between puzzles, instead each puzzle was on its own (so for example, there were 4 separate puzzles that needed to be done to escape, and all 4 could have been done at the same time, vs. one puzzle leading into the next as is usually seen in a room). Again, this may be what some are looking for, but for myself and my friends, we were a bit let down.The puzzles themselves were all uniquely challenging and somewhat interesting, however, without giving too much away, I found that many of them were not overly clever.My experience is based only on 1 room, and so I would take my review with a grain of salt if I were reading this. I bet anyone who goes to this escape room will still have a good time, and it will make for a memorable experience either way!

We did the hospital room (2 persons). It was pretty good and I would say this room is for begginers! We were offered 2 hints and escaped before the 1h mark. It's not the most original room, but overall we had alot of fun. The only downside is that you hear people playing in other rooms, I don't recall this happening in other escape rooms I did before.
