We had a wonderful time here during our stay. The building was very clean and well maintained. The stained glass windows and period style decor was like a time capsule. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was delightful to interact with . The location is perfect and a very short walk from the downtown shops. Checking in and out was a breeze. It is so nice to see these heritage buildings in all of their glory maintained and appreciated over the last century and a half. This place is a gem and we suggest trying it out.

Beautiful bed & breakfast. Word of advice: ask for any room other than the secretary, unless you don’t mind not having a second floor in your room. The good thing about the secretary suite is it’s right by the entrance. I was disappointed when I found out the breakfast was a “continental” breakfast (I put it in quotes because it was served to us and it included an egg). It was good, don’t get me wrong, just had a lot of bread carbs. Also, I told the owner in advance we were gluten-free and dairy-free, and she had gluten-free muffins, but she wasn’t sure if it was dairy-free. We had to find out ourselves by contacting the bakery they were from. Other than that, everything was great and the owner was very hospitable.

This is our second time at this B&B and it was better than the first. It is a beautiful old building and our room was very comfortable and cosy. The breakfast 's are wonderful. Our host Carrie is a very caring person and she cannot do enough for her guests. Thank you again, and hopefully we will be back to stay within the not to distant future. Paul and Nick

Loved everything about the Old School House! The B&B was clean and beautiful. The ambiance was welcoming and the decor was gorgeous. There were pictures tastefully displayed around the B&B of the original school house and it was a treat to feel the sense of history in each room. Our room was spectacular! It was fabulous to have such high ceilings and a separate living room with a sofa so we could relax and unwind with a movie after being out all day. The soaps and lotions in the bathroom were spa-like, natural, and locally made and were very much appreciated. The bed was super comfortable and we slept soundly. Everything in the B&B was thoughtful and well-appointed, from the knife and cutting board in our room that made sharing treats easy, to the coasters they provided on the coffee table and side table. The location is perfect too. It's on a quiet street (which is great for sleeping) but is only one block up and over from Queen Street - where all the shopping is. Best of all was Carrie - our host. She was so lovely and made us feel instantly at home. Anytime we had a question or if we needed anything, she was extremely helpful and quick to reply. And the breakfasts - oh my! It was like having high tea at the Chateau Laurier every morning. I couldn't have imagined a better stay and if I'm ever in the area again, I won't even consider looking at staying anywhere else. Loved it!

The building decor and history behind the original schoolhouse from 1859 was incredible in itself. Carrie, the owner, was so kind and welcoming and always available. We stayed in the Captains Room - two storey suite. It was spotless with a gorgeous king size loft bedroom! The breakfast was wonderful. Location is perfect, right behind the Prince of Wales Hotel. Fabulous stay at the Schoolhouse Bed & Breakfast and would most definitely stay there again.

Loved my stay here - perfect location to walk around Queen Street, beautiful building that has been kept immaculately, and spacious loft suites. Carrie was such a warm and friendly host with great attention to detail. I felt very looked after! My allergies act up in old buildings (dust, mould), but the air and cleaning standards were top notch and I slept easy.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the school house 1859 and found the hosts Carrie and Pete absolutely delightful. They were gracious, attentive yet respectful, and gave just the right amount of attention. They were very accommodating when we had a a special request and we look forward to staying with them again. We highly recommend staying at the school house B&B.

The hosts were exceptional - very friendly and attentive to their guests needs! This historic schoolhouse turned BNB is absolutely stunning - the rooms are very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The location is perfect - since you are in a quiet street but only 1 block away from the old town shopping street (Queen Street) where there are quaint shops, bakeries and restaurants. The “continental” breakfast is Instagram worthy and was a lovely surprise. I could not suggest a better place for one’s Niagara on the Lake getaway home base!
