Been previously and really enjoyed it. Went with a group this time and arrived later so we ended up at the back. Definitely not a great idea to schedule bongo bingo at the same time - could only hear half of the show!

I can highly recommend this place. The comedy club is held in the Fishergate Bar which is much smaller than the main Barbican auditorium and so makes for a more intimate venue. There’s no ticket seat allocation – you sit anywhere you like, but there are no bad seats and arriving late to sit at the back is no problem. The room is big enough to hold a good-sized crowd, but you’re nice and close to the acts wherever you sit. You’re also close to the bar and toilets when the breaks arrive. I was there on the 18th of June, when they had Anth Young, Plastic Jeezus, and Quincy – three hilarious top acts from around the country - introduced by the resident host Damion Larkin. All were excellent and the brilliant host’s constant banter with audience members is vicious in the friendliest of ways. If you’re a shy and retiring type, it might be a good idea not to sit on the front row. A really great night out.
