Fabric Town

I really wish I got the name of the two ladies who helped me when I came into the shop on September 4 around 2pm. One of the staff members were so helpful in explaining the fabric I was looking for to use on my graduation dress. She explained the fabric colour choice and what to consider, reassuring me how the stretch would conform to a person's body and helped me understand the fabric I was working with.This staff member also helped me find my zipper and zipper foot, explaining the different parts of the zipper anatomy so I understood what I needed for my pattern.After she was done cutting the material, I was then checked out by the second staff member who also was super helpful in explaining to me, a newbie sewing enthusiast, where I can find information and really empowering me to continue to learn and not feel hopeless when trying a new sewing project. She helped me pick out a needle for the fabric I was using, and reassured me I had the tools and access to the knowledge to create the dress of my dreams. This second member also helped me pick out shears and reassured me the investment I made into this one project would help me with other projects as well. She also encouraged me to continue to ask questions so she could provide information and resources so I would develop my skills.Both staff members were so compassionate and empathetic to this newbie enthusiast and I felt so supported. I never had this experience at any fabric shop whenever I was looking for fabric for smaller projects, and I will definitely return. I felt super empowered to work on my project and I hope that when I come back I'd be able to share the project they helped me with.Thank you to Fabric Town for the wonderful service and assistance!Hot tip: The staff mentioned the owner/manager of the store is incredibly knowledgeable and super creative, and if there were more challenging projects that needed a second opinion it'd be valuable to come in early in the mornings on weekdays as a hot tip.

Didn't quite have what I was looking for, but the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The variety carried seems pretty solid, but may not have hyper specific accessories or styles. The staff were able to provide tips for how I can accomplish my goals with my project though!

This store is definitely the ONLY place to go for all your fabric needs!!!!. Their prices are SO much lower than others and the fabric is modern. I was able to buy beautiful outdoor fabric at more than half the price of those 'designer' stores further along Danforth. They also have a large clearance table, a basement level with tons more fabric including foam, batting and pillows. The older lady was super helpful, very kind and knowledgeable. Did I mention the unbelievable prices?

I have been sewing for a little over a year now, and this is my favourite fabric store! They were super encouraging to me as a beginner, and have given me great advice along the way. The selection of fabric there is incredible, and very reasonably-priced compared to other stores. If you can't find what you're looking for on the main floor, check out the basement which is another entire floor filled with beautiful fabric. Tons of sewing notions, trims, upholstery fabrics, and for those who like rummaging for sales bin fabric ends, they have lots of lovely little treasures in theirs. They're always my first go-to fabric store!

Fabric Town is truly one of the best fabric stores I have been to! The staff are very kind, helpful and have a great attitude. The prices are great and affordable for amazing quality fabric. I recommend Fabric Town!
