It was my first time here and I was really nervous. But Selma did a really great job! She was super friendly and she listened to what I wanted to get done, gave me the perfect cut and styled my hair. Overall, I loved the experience and would highly recommend Selma to anyone planning on going there!

Nikita was absolutely fabulous! I have had facials in some of the best hotels in Europe and never had anything like this. This was the most relaxing skin treatment I have ever had and my skin felt and looked softer and glowing afterwards. While my feet soaked she asked many questions to figure out what I would like and then the moment she began was quiet as a mouse. Pressure and massage were perfect. While cream soaked in she didn’t leave but gave me the best foot massage! Plucked my eyebrows perfectly and I left feeling younger, relaxed and totally satisfied! Thank you, Nikita.

Decent work. HORRIBLY overpriced. Charged me $250 for a few highlights in my hair (very short) that took maybe 30 minutes of actual work.My stylist spent most of her time having a separate conversation with her co-workers, barely interacting with me.Highly recommend against ever going here if you are even remotely budget conscious or enjoy a conversation with your stylist. I'm appalled at how deceptive and predatory these people are with their pricing. Will not be returning.

Relaxing salon with very experienced and talented stylists. Never disappointed with the service. The products used on my hair leave my hair smooth, shiny and smelling fantastic!Check out their deck during the summer. Have a foot soak and cocktail while enjoying the summer sun!

BUYER BEWARE! I purchased an expensive curling iron that did not curl my hair. The next day I went in to discuss and politely, respectfully, asked to come back when the full salon was open. I returned as suggested, and early to ensure it wasn’t too busy to attend to my concern. I was met by the helpful girl who sold me the curling iron and I explained that the curling iron did not curl my hair. I said that I was not sure if it was my hair, or the curling iron. My complaint was valid, very politely relayed, but inappropriately received.I was referred to the owner/manager, as expected, and this is where the ‘manager’ behaviour turned FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE TO ‘POCKET PROTECTION’. A call was made to her husband and she turned back to me ready to say “no”, we won’t help you, free from any pangs of consciousness or respect of the fact that their salon had sold me a product that did not live up to their promise. I will add here that the bottom of the receipt said there was a “final sale” subscript, this was NOT MENTIONED at ANY TIME prior, or during my purchase. Had it been mentioned, I would respect the policy. Had it been on clearance, or on sale, or in any way suggestive that they would brandish such a ‘not my problem’ attitude in the future, I would not have purchased.Back to my experience: I was asked if I had used it. As I mentioned above, that is how I knew it did not work properly. I furthered by mentioning that the curling iron (that was lost with my luggage) I bought at the drugstore curled my hair, (so I didn’t think it was my hair). The owner/manager said “well drugstore curling irons get a lot hotter”. Is that a thing? Every drug store curling iron gets hotter and therefor works on my hair? Didn’t sound like science, but I was still hopeful that we could perhaps troubleshoot or test the curling iron together. I was open to any suggestion and said so. Instead she opened the AS NEW box, picked up the end of the curling iron in perfect condition, dropped it like it was a used c****m and said “well, since you used it, we can’t resell it, so we can’t give you any kind of refund or credit” :-O and lamed the box over to me.At this point I think I was in shock, I put it down on the counter and responded “well, I can’t use it, and I don’t want to see it sitting at home reminding me of this experience, this is worse than losing my luggage”. I left the curling iron there. I believe it was either resold, as it was in perfect, covid appropriately sanitized from my single partial use, and very much ‘resale’ condition; or that it was tested, proved faulty, and returned to manufacturer for full refund/replacement.I do not write bad reviews by nature, and I don’t expect exemplary service or support at the consumer level, but I do expect honesty in a transaction and respectful consideration and treatment of the problem. I was not rude, not even angry that the curling iron did not work, I just thought of it as a glitch that could be worked out. Until this moment my Newfoundland family had trusted and frequented the salon for multiple services. As a visitor this was my first time in the shop and while the curling iron didn’t work, I would have happily worked out an arrangement where a gift card, or services, or ANYTHING were offered while an attempt to reach a solution was discussed. I guess that’s my point – she could have tried. It would have been worth her while from a fiscal and a self-respect, don’t-stomp-the-customer, perspective. If you’ve read this far, thanks for listening and I hope your experience is all that you hope for and deserve.

The quality at Sound Salon has certainly diminished. I did not receive the cut that I asked for in the winter and when I called (and emailed) them the day after to have it fixed, I didn't hear back from them for a month. When I finally did receive a phone call back (blaming it on their changing computer software) they promised me a full credit - when I went to book a pedi and a mani 5 months later me and my child, they couldn't find the credit (still blaming it on their changing computer software) and after some flustered excuses I said, Forget about it - it's been a weird year...we'll just drop it" but the guy on the phone said

Got a junior stylist, who wasn’t comfortable doing bangs yet, and she asked a senior staff member to do it for her. No big deal. Then when the haircut proceeds, I only feel a few snips, but didn’t think anything of it. Stylist starts to style my hair, and I didn’t think much of it and gave them full faith.When I got home and put on my glasses, I saw my bangs were TERRIBLE. I went to First Choice to get them fixed, and the stylist there asked me if I had cut my bangs myself! I told her that I had just come from another salon. She inspected the rest of my hair to point out to me that my hair WASN’T EVEN CUT. She fixed me up, thank god.I emailed and called Sound about a refund, and they wanted to get me in to get it fixed—but I had already gotten it fixed somewhere else. They refused to give me a refund and said there was nothing else they could do.Would you go back to a business where the senior staff--who is training other employees--royally ruined your bangs? And I would like to point out, that I paid full price for a haircut that I didn’t even get!Lesson learned. Would not recommend. Will never go there again.

Worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon! My regular stylist from another salon was unavailable until the end of July so I booked somewhere as I was desperate. I had an amateur who did nothing that I asked and my hair looks pretty much the same as before I had it coloured. She couldn’t even cut a fringe bang and had to get her co worker to help and it still looks awful. She got dye all over my face and shirt as well. I swear she didn’t have a clue. She never bothered to give me any conditioning treatment, no products or leave in conditioner before she blow dried and she was so hard on my hair with the brush that I got breakage everywhere!! I even suggested leave in conditioner for the tangles but she ignored. Not even a curl or flat iron when she was finished. I couldn’t believe it and just wanted out of there. To top it all off she charged me $273!! I almost died when they told me the price, I have been angry since I left the place. Garbage, don’t go there I will never be back!!!

Over the years I've experienced three different colourists at this salon and none of them live up to the hype or the prices that they charge. I discussed a colour that I wanted, even showing a picture of my own hair and the colour that it was at that time and I was given the opposite. In another case, my hair was severely damaged by someone who was considered one of the top colourists in the entire salon. Overall, there are very few people in this field in this province who know what they're doing. This salon is no exception.

While visiting, I needed to get hair services so I came in to the spa. Josie was lovely, very attentive to my hair situation. She used a two toner treatment to deal with my fresh roots and the over processed ends. The reception staff was so friendly and kept me with hot tea the whole time.I would definitely be back.Years ago I got a manicure and a makeup application and it was fantastic. They totally pampered me.
