The Golden Inn

The food was refried many times, everything was tough and hard to eat. Very salt heavy. I'm shocked they would serve something of such low quality to paying customers let alone anybody. If I were the owners of Golden Inn I wouldn't have served that to my family. Stay away, drive out 40 mins to another Chinese place in Belleville or something.

Amazing value for money! We just got back and I had to write my review! We loved it, we had the family meal for 4, loads of food, super hot and so delicious. Lots of flavor, there was nothing left when we'd finished. Will definitely be back soon!!

If you're from Toronto where there are countless Chinese restaurants, then please avoid this place at all costs. I feel bad to write this review but it's necessary. The proprietors have been in this community for many years. The owner knows her customers and even their kids. They are pretty much the only Asian restaurant in town, and I suppose locals don't get to Toronto much so they have no idea what real Chinese food is like, or even what good North Americanised Chinese food is. Authentic Cantonese style food it is most certainly not. All this place has to offer is chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, egg rolls, wonton soup, sweet and sour chicken balls. sweet and sour pork or ribs, chicken chop suey, beef mixed vegetable, and honey garlic spare ribs. That's it. It's all combined into various combos. The lady still managed to mess up my order - it was supposed to be chicken chow mein, but instead it was an inedible mass of chicken chop suey. The chicken fried rice was literally burnt. The chicken balls were hard. The oil the egg rolls were fried in needed to be changed. The wonton soup was okay. The fortune cookies were actually the best part of the meal. This is why I feel bad. Behind the counter are certificates and diplomas of the 2 children that the owners have labored hard to give a better life to. By the dates on those, I think they've succeeded, but I also think it may be time to either revamp or throw in the towel. They have no staff - they can't get any. They do takeout only. The place is dark, dingy and depressing. Andy and Angie - your parents need help.

Sorry to say, absolutely the worst Canadian Chinese food I've ever had. I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to spare others. Lemon chicken, egg rolls and spring rolls were refried so many times they were burnt and like leather. The sodium levels of every dish were are truly lethal.

Took 2 hours for 2 meals to be done after saying 45 mins it’ll be done food was good but wait time is ridiculous

The best way to describe this place is that it’s not bad but not the best. It’s small town Chinese food. Ma & Pa style. You will find better if your in a big city but for where it’s located it hits the spot for a take out night.

Grew up eating here and I’ve been all over Canada from east to west and in between and this place is still my favourite!! Great prices great food and flavour!

Nice family style restaurant. Ordered take out today for lunch. Got food within 20min. Good price, large portion, packed well, got home with food still steaming hot. Combo #7 is the way to go! Very friendly customer service. Will be back!

This was the worst chinese food that we have ever had. We could not eat the food because it tasted so bad and did not smell ok. We had to throw it out. I was sick the next day. It should be closed down.

Ordered a dinner for 4 on Saturday Sept.5. Took an hour and a half to get food. When got home everything was overcooked. Rice was sticky, couldn’t cut chicken balls. Egg rolls couldn’t eat without cutting with knife. Totally the worst $65 ever spent on a meal you couldn’t eat!!!When I phoned and talked to them, they said must be me because nobody else complained. There was four of us here prepared to eat a good Chinese meal. All very disappointed and very hungry. Never again will we go to Golden Inn!!!
