She is one of very few that offer 12 weeks postpartum support in addition to supporting your entire pregnancy. I'm 1000% happy I had Janalee's guidance, kind and thoughtful support, partnership to brainstorm with, and treasure trove of resources to help me and my husband through the rollercoaster of having our first child. She is very flexible - I could text, call, or meet in person anytime I needed help. She's also just a lot of fun and someone you want on your team. I'm forever grateful to Janalee and recommend her to everyone seeking a doula.

Janalee was instrumental to our birthing and fourth trimester experience. We honestly don’t know how we could have done it without her. She was amazing during labour and delivery and we give much of the credit for things going as smoothly as they did to her. She also had strategies for us for all of the tricky bits of newborn parenting - bathing, breastfeeding, getting sleep (for us and baby), etc. As new parents, we were so thankful to have her by our side, provide support, and help us troubleshoot day and night. Would recommend Janalee to anyone wanting to feel confident in the first few months of their parenting journey.

Janalee was a critical part of my birthing team - I cannot recommend her enough. She effectively helped me transform unbearable painful contractions during labour into manageable ab crunches through her use of visualizations and breathing techniques. Most of all, she helped me, along with my midwives and partner, achieve the birth plan that I wanted as a low risk first time mom, which turned out to be an unmedicated home birth. Near the end, I was feeling immensely pressured to be induced, but she helped me feel empowered to stick to my goal of waiting for spontaneous labour to begin because this was my preference. Baby arrived 13 days past my due date without any issues. She believed in me and helped me gain confidence so I could make decisions with conviction. She also was somehow able to make CBE an enjoyable course, with humour and invaluable tips. Before labour itself, I thought of Janalee as my prenatal consultant on speed dial throughout my pregnancy who helped me prepare for baby’s arrival, from curating my baby registry to learning how to change a diaper. And after, during postpartum, she was a huge resource when I suffered some PPD/PPA and breastfeeding difficulties. She made me feel heard, and made sure I got the support I needed. I will always remember that having a doula like Janalee made all the difference in having a smoother transition into motherhood.

Words can not describe how grateful I am to have Janalee as my Doula. This was my first pregnancy and I had just learned about a doula and the support they offer. I had found her through Google and when I went of her website I fell in love with her care for women and pregnancy. We initially had a zoom consultation. Her energy was positive and so contagious. I knew right away she was the doula for me. Best decision I made in my entire pregnancy. Janalee made me feel as if I were her sister! Understanding, caring, informative, a safe place, knowledgeable, comforting, literally there 24/7 for you. My whole pregnancy my go to person before my midwives was always Janalee. I texted her and called her about everything haha. The classes and videos she has for you to read and watch through pregnancy were beyond helpful. Even things to do during pregnancy added a special touch. So many great ideas I never thought of for myself. Janalee was there for my birth and helped me through every hour! She brought this nice huge sling which I literally lived on during every contraction and during active labor. Janalee is so compassionate and calm. Every step of the way she calmly explained to me my choices and the pros and cons. She kept me sane through it all. My birthing story was amazing because of her. I feel empowered after my birth and I owe it all to Janalee! Postpartum has been stressful but getting through each day with the growth of learning as I go and of course texting away Janalee for help! Haha. She is always there which makes it less stressful. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend booking Janalee as your doula her services are absolutely outstanding. Literally the best thing I did for my pregnancy was having Janalee with me every step of the way! We cannot recommend Janalee enough. We signed on for her full package to get support through pregnancy, childbirth, and 12 weeks postpartum. Janalee was a great support through pregnancy. The resources she provided us took the confusion out of how do we prepare for baby?" and gave us a roadmap to follow to gear up for what to expect. Having her in the room during labour was also very valuable; we felt more at home at the hospital because she knew the ropes and made us feel at ease.Janalee's help really saved us postpartum. Janalee was one of the best decisions we made during pregnancy. I’m so grateful to her and her support - I couldn’t imagine going through this without her. From the start, she was helpful, kind, and supportive, and the resources she made available to us were invaluable. She helped me during a very trying pre-labour and during labour she helped my partner feel part of the process and gave him the tools he needed to be there for me. The nurses afterwards spoke about how great she was which I think really says something! But it was really the postpartum support is where I will be forever grateful to her. She made us feel like no question was too big or too small and was willing to “trouble shoot” with us whenever we needed her. I learned so much from her which gave me more confidence taking care of our newborn. Thank you, Janalee! If you’re considering working with her - she’s incredible!

We met Janalee in her online birthing class and instantly loved her vibe. She was funny, forward thinking and presented content in a way that was digestible for first time parents.Fast forward a few months later when we needed a doula, there was no question who we’d pick. Janalee gave us all the confidence going into labour and when we needed to make a game time decision, she provided calmness and the know all down a path that we had not considered.In the fourth trimester, we threw every question at her and she was able to give us practical guidance.We loved having her with us at the hospital and in our home. Her aura was just what we needed in this very special time in our lives. If we do this again, we’d have her join us in our journey even earlier in the pregnancy!

Hiring Janalee as our doula was honestly the best decision we made to get me through a mentally challenging pregnancy. She was so amazing at working through our birth ‘wishes’ with us, and really putting me at ease. She was constantly checking in with me, always there 24/7 to answer my questions. I felt so comfortable with her right from the first phone call I had. I cannot recommend her enough, and if I’m lucky enough to be pregnant again, Janalee will be the first person I call.

Upon finding out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to work with a doula to complement working with an OB. I met virtually with a few different doulas but knew Janalee was the one for myself and my husband. Since this was our first child, we were pretty new to everything and Janalee was the perfect guide for our pregnancy and postpartum journey. She was always easily reachable, always somehow knew to check in at the right time, and offered endless support during some uncertain rounds of additional testing we required. Although Janalee wasn't at our birth, I felt completely safe, empowered and informed because of how well Janalee had prepared us ahead time. After our daughter arrived, Janalee was so helpful in all things feeding, sleep and decoding baby behaviour. Our transition into parenthood was smoother than I expected and I credit so much of that to Janalee! Thank you for everything!

Where do I even begin!? When I first found out that I was pregnant, I was terrified. Not of the labour & birth experience but of postpartum. I researched a lot of doulas in the GTA area and not many offered postpartum services so that’s how I stumbled upon Motherlover Doula. When I first met Janalee (virtually due to COVID), not only was she educated on all things birth/postpartum, she was kind and patient when answering all of my questions. Once my son was born, I flooded her with a ton of questions and she always responded quickly and efficiently. What I loved most about Janalee is that she never forced any of her advice on me and always encouraged the fact that mom knows best.
