Great Korean BBQ! First one in Durham Region. Hopefully it stays for a long time as this would save a trip to Toronto for the same.Bulgogi was awesome!

Pleasantly surprised to find a pretty decent Korean joint out here in the Durham Region. Went here with my husband for the KBBQ/Bingsu and we were pleased with what we got. Though Friday night all you can eat was somewhat pricey - $28ish per person, there was a great selection. We ordered the sliced beef, bulgogi beef, kalbi, spicy pork, mandu, sweet onion, pineapple, kimchi and chap chae.We were disappointed to find that the pork belly was sold out. Must've been quite good since the meat selection was very tasty. Big fan of the kalbi marinade - definitely our favourite of all of our choices, and the bulgogi marinade was pretty good too, but the meat could be more tender and saucier. The spicy pork wasn't really spicy, but it was enjoyable, and the sliced beef was a pretty thick cut and a little on the tough side, so I'd advise foregoing that and just sticking to the kalbi and bulgogi for your beef option. We also loved the mandu filling - something about grilling a steamed dumpling makes the experience even more satisfying! Chap chae was kind of underseasoned, however they do provide a sesame oil/salt/pepper dip with the meal that I actually just mixed into it, which gave it the flavour I am familiar with. Their kimchi is also on the milder side, which may be good news for people who like the sour, fermented flavour without burning their insides. For dessert, we ordered the Ingeolmi Bingsu which was comparable to popular places we've been to further West! It also came in a heaping serving...good for two people if you're having it with a meal.It was a good overall experience. The wait staff were courteous and helpful. Could've been more attentive clearing plates faster, but it really didn't bother us. They were very sweet. The meats were also brought out slower than what we are used to, but it seemed like there were few wait staff to prep everything to begin with. The decor looks like it is going for more of a shabby chic look. Not the most modern looking with their table settings, but modest. The atmosphere definitely serves its purpose of creating the authentic Asian dessert bar vibe. They have a good selection of cute desserts and mains, plus they have board games and a late closing time, so you feel like you can take your time and hang out. Hoping to come here with some friends next time. This place deserves more traffic. We were shocked that we were the only ones there on a Friday night. Can't wait to go back and try their other menu options.

ICE BAR CAFE is lucky to have such dedicated and friendly staff like Riley and Kiyoshi. Both go out of their way to make such positive difference in the dining experience of their patrons. Customer service at its best!

The Ice Bar Cafe is truly an Oshawa if not an entire Durham Region hidden gem!! To start with the food is absolutely delicious so let's get that out of the way first however for me it's the atmosphere, decor & features that make this restaurant so special for my family! The Ice Bar Cafe makes me nostalgic for a time in my childhood when everything was perfect! I don't mean the food as a Korean cuisine was not apart of my childhood however the low chitter chatter of families discussing the day, gorgeous lighting that's not too bright or dim, rustic yet somehow modern decor & board games offered to guests or free for the taking well waiting for your scrumptious eats add that special something that seems to be missing at other establishment. The decor as I said is warm & inviting so getting lost in a game of Scrabble or Snakes & Ladders is very east to do! This added feature also provides us parents with an opportunity to actually talk to one another lol I just think these little additions and attention to detail which this restaurant is full of make such an impact on a family night out.I'm not even sure how we discovered this restaurant as to be completely honest we're not or we were not I should say, a family who would be looking for a Korean restaurant however I am so very glad we did!! It's been a few years now that we've been going to the Ice Bar Cafe and every time we've been it's been exactly what we needed ,a special night out with great food, friends & family at a price everyone can afford. They offer such unique choices of different thing my husband's favorite is their selection of pop we don't normally see in Ontario.I was flipping through my old Christmas photos when I discovered these & it just brought back such wonderful memories I though I should share! Thank you so much to the owners of this wonderful restaurant & from my family to yours Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!! May the New Year be filled with prosperity & joy!!!

This place isn't a full out restaurant, when you first walk in, it looks like a daycare. We tried their Korean bbq, the quality of the food was on average, I was a bit surprised that the pork belly was served to us in a block which we had to cut on our own. The serving staff was great and always made sure to check in on us. Overall it was a good meal.

Owner and staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty, well prepared and presented beautifully. The decor is colourful, makes the place pop while not being obnoxious. Now do except a little bit of a wait for your order but it is more then worth the wait.I would recommend this for anyone who either just wants a something sweet to eat or a nice hot meal. They may be a dessert cafe but they have a nice list of Korean style dishes to go along side their desserts.

The food here is fantastic!!!!If you like Korean food, you will love this place. We recently tried the following... Korean Corn Dog, Beef Bulgogi, Pan-Fried Dumplings, Galbi, Dakgolgi and Kimchi Pancake. They were all excellent.Really enjoyed the corn dogs, those were fun. Dumplings were perfect, so was the Galbi beef. My least favorite was the Kimchi, but that's because I'm not a fan of cabbage. The only down side is that this place is expensive, but the food is worth it.Highly recommended.

I've been here several times and each time it's a great experience. Friendly staff and the all you can eat Korean BBQ is fantastic. Their cheesecake is also really good too!!Update: I've ordered from here on UberEats a couple times and the food is fantastic. Delivery of the food is usually within 45 minutes which is reasonable.

One of the hardest things about moving to Oshawa was the lack of Korean, Japanese, and traditional Chinese restaurants that are so common in Scarborough. That's why I was very surprised to find out about Ice Bar. Brought my family there last night for dinner. What I Liked: I enjoyed the atmosphere and the space. The servers were kind. The space was clean. The kimchi rice and spicy pork was nice (3/5).What I Disliked: After being seated for 20 minutes with three small kids, they finally took our order. 20 minutes after that, our food came. I ordered the pork bone soup. It was very obvious that this was at least a day old, if not more. The potatoes were terrible. The actual pork bones had almost no meat. The rice was old. There was hardly any kimchi. No kimchi was served as an appetizer, which is a typical Korean offering. The prices were okay, but it was still too much for what we got.Overall, it seems like Ice Bar can't figure out who they want to be. Do you sell desserts? Traditional Korean fare? Is it a spot to chill at at night? A day time restaurant?I'll definitely go back at least once to try their dessert or maybe even the kbbq, but definitely won't be ordering their traditional meals. 2/5.

Just found out there’s a Korean BBQ nearby so I decided to give it a try. Tbh it’s not worth the price, expensive but not so many food portion & options. Maybe they changed the owner. The price on the poster outside was cheaper than the actual price. I’m a big fan of Korean BBQ but this place doesn’t know how to serve BBQ meal properly. The food wasn’t very good too. Their seaweed salad was the best lol. And there’s a small flyer kept flying around our table too. I would not recommend this place for BBQ. I haven’t tried their dessert bcuz the BBQ made me so disappointed. 2 stars bc the server was nice. Or else 1 star is fair enough.
