US Social Security Administration

I went there thinking that this was the new location only to get turned around and sent to 186 exchange Street. 186 exchange Street is no longer the social security building

Very slow service omg they need to speed up and I never had such experience aha.

Terrible people work here. They refuse me for the reason that I am from Russia. For more than a month I tried to get at least SNAP - to no avail.

Both representatives were incredibly unkind. After accumulative communication with both representatives, was simply in tears afterwards due to how invalidating and short agents were.The first representative hung up on me mid-communication after trying to assess where a successful application (with documentation of this) may have went and how much genuinely goes into this process in the most vulnerable way I could muster. There was such a lack of accountability, in conjunction with being so short and unkind... The hang up was just brutal.Calling back, the second representative was, I felt personally, interrogative in nature, and the more I experienced this, the more difficult it was to answer her questions accurately (especially being a neurodivergent/autistic individual), which resulted in, what I felt again, an invalidating exchange and received such shortness on her behalf and simply just did not understand, from either representative, why their personal dysregulation was transferring into interactions with genuinely confused clients who are very vulnerable and all ready experiencing enough invalidation/unkindness/interrogation and most certainly do not need to be receiving it further -- especially from an agency that is in place to assist other humans, in a human service environment.Still so hurt by these exchanges...This truly stunts authenticity and the ability to feel safe and continue to push to seek support. I hope something may result from my comment -- and the comments of so many others...Change is needed.Change is vital.Especially in human service related environments/systems.

First let me state the location of Social Security Administration Office is 478 Main Street Suite 200, Buffalo,NY. An important letter was mailed to me unsealed, which was received on 04/26/2023. Where vital private content inside of the envelope was exposed, yes compromise do to it being unsealed.This is a major “ Government “ issue that need to be addressed. People are getting railed and treated as nothing of importance by members who have been hired to help the people of this North American continent which is ruled by the US Corporate Governance. I am appalled by the actions that weren’t performed to protect vital information. Actions will be implemented.

Appointments are strongly recommended. No one answers the phone so how can I make an appointment?! New location requires paid parking -- and then who knows how long waiting will take. Very anti-citizen.

Very disappointed. Google maps got me lost several times. Sent me up a one way street the wrong way. I'm hesitate to use this again.

Had a conference call about an overpayment. I gave her 2 dates in 2019 and 2020 I told them to stop payment when I started working. They never stopped the payments and now I. 2022 expect me to pay it back. Not my fault, they were told to stop and didn't. Do your job SSA and stop when you are told. Dropped calls or they don't answer. Rude people . I asked why didn't you stop it when told in 2019? No response. All she cared about is the money. SSA fault not mine.

My visit to the Social Security Office in Buffalo was pre planned, I made a appointment. My visit was on time, the people their were polite. I was done with business within 30 minutes.

I had no appointment but I got there at 9:02, went to 2nd floor, used the mobile check in and waited about 5 minutes to get my ticket called. Wasn’t that busy since the place had just opened. Took about 10 minutes to update my information at the window. In and out fast only spent about 20 minutes in total. Lovely lady at the windowRecommendations:- look up everything you need to bring/have before hand.- not sure how busy it gets but arrive just before they open for a smooth and fast experience.- park nearby and walk to the office.
