Raffi's English & Japanese Class

Raffi is a wonderful tutor! I highly recommend working with him if you're learning Japanese.Because I am not enrolled in a formal course, Raffi is actually taking on the role of a teacher and doing a phenomenal job. Speaking in Japanese with him has been particularly helpful because of his knowledge of both Japanese and the broader field of linguistics. He's able to (very kindly) correct my pronunciation and explain grammar principles in clear and accessible ways.In our sessions, he shares additional information that goes over and beyond what's in the textbook. He's also so patient and willing to explain things until you truly understand the concept. Moreover, he makes language learning interesting and fun.He really is a great teacher!

He has a well rounded understanding of the culture, which makes the language engaging and fun to learn. I have absolutely learned and retained more Japanese under the tutelage of Raffi, than in a classroom setting. You always leave a lesson learning something new and interesting!
