Sandman Suites Vancouver-Davie Street

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location had lots of good views and was at a nice spot to explore the city. Also the staff at the front desk were very helpful, especially Teresa who suggested several local restaurants. I plan to stay here again the next time I visit Vancouver.

The location is unbeatable. The view from our room was amazing, 22nd floor over English Bay. The Davie Village and the rest of downtown Vancouver is so interesting. The Sandman is in the process of updating the rooms, long overdue. I have yet to stay in one of the renovated rooms though.

Great location, especially for tourists who don't mind walking around and exploring a new place.The hotel itself is a bit old and is undergoing renovations but that didn't impact our stay in any way.The front desk and the staff in general are very helpful. Teresa (hope I got her name right) from the front desk went out of her way to help us with guest parking on a couple of occasions.There are so many better local restaurants nearby, so we didn't feel the need to go to the chain restaurant that is located on the hotel premises

The bathroom needed redecorating. A little too small. Not enough toiletries in bathroom for two people.The rooms weren't very well soundproofed, it was like the windows were open. My friend and I could hear ambulances going past in the night and someone shout the cops are here.It didn't feel like a very safe area has drug addicts were visibly stoned during the day. We didn't walk around during the night.Breakfast was plated at the restaurant, if there were any vegetarians amongst our group they wouldn't be please because both bacon and sausages were touching toast and potatoes. There was no cereal. This was difficult for my friend and I as we both only eat cereal in a morning. I can't face a cooked breakfast in the morning.

The view of the city from the hotel was wonderful! It's our first time in Vancouver and the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Teresa in the front gave great recommendations for our short, but lively trip. The room was sufficient and breakfast was alright. The location itself is great for walking around and seeing the city.

Well, I can't say enough good about my stay here. Celebrated my anniversary with my partner in a penthouse, STUNNING views, friendly and considerate staff, a lovely welcome basket, and clean/appropriate rooms/environment. We enjoyed the room so much, we skipped dinner and ordered in!

The lower floors might be noisy, but we were lucky and had our room in the 19. floor with a great view. The location was excellent for us because the hotel is just minutes away of St. Paul's hospital where my husband had to go for some treatment.

Overall good hotel. We had an older room which needs updating and I know the hotel is doing so that is good. The check in person was great and overall front desk staff was super friendly. Elevators are very slow. Our shower did not have hot water the first day and took 4 calls to the front desk over an entire day to get it fixed! I was surprised at check in to learn the water would be off for the first night without any prior communication or even a bottle of water in the room. I was also shocked to learn that my grand total on the email I received was not my actual total but my pre-tax total. Grand total means everything or final price not that more will be added on after. I was not happy to learn about this deceptive wording but will state I later saw further down the email where this was clarified. This is very confusing and not right. Properly term what it is and be honest upfront, not later on in the fine print! I was not the only person complaining about this deceptive wording practice!!!!

Great location, lovely rooms. Got everything you need. Even the limited view rooms had a lovely view. The pool reopened whilst we were here, which is lovely and warm. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews, but we had nothing to worry about. Had a fantastic holiday here. Will definitely come back.

The lights on the outside of the window shined into the room and made it difficult to sleep. If the curtains could shut better or if the light could be dimmed or aimed better that would make for a better sleep. Also there was no screen on the patio door, would have been nice to have one to better use the balcony. The room itself was in a great location and I do go back I would stay there again.
