Bare Mountain Trail

This is a fantastic view on a reasonably easy trail. There are stairs and some inclines which are a bit steep, but overal a short walk that is still an easy difficulty. However! The path is not well marked and many of the signs have been knocked loose or down. The route is not on Google Maps, so it is worth keeping an eye on where you are going.

This is a wonderful trail. Be aware there are lots of stairs to climb when deciding to take this trail. Beautiful view of Clarenville and the water. There are plaques and a viewing binoculars. Nice spot to have lunch. You can also go further to meet up with the Shoal Harbour Trail that I will venture on today. Easy parking and trail is to the right at the edge of the woods. Enjoy!

Beautiful trail set in the middle of Clarenville with challenging steep sections and wonderful wooded areas and ponds.The most stunning part is the outlook over the Clarenville bay and Random Island, over the scraggy granite massif.My boy Arlo and myself only explored the 3.5 km circuit around Bare Mountain, leaving the remainder of the network to be explored.The only part that we found heartbreaking was the fact that developers mowed down large swats of forest besides the trail which gave it a sad, barren, and depressing feeling. Still struggling with Newfoundlanders' mentality that forests needs to be cut down and replaced either by crushed stones, asphalt, or lawn, as if it was the US Midwest or Alberta which I find depressing.Newfoundland is nature and should be protected by all means!

The path is very well maintained. Little vegetation growth in 2021. Easy to medium difficulty level so it's great for beginners to start hiking

Surprised to see no one on the trail on Canada day. The trail is poorly marked in some places so make sure you use AllTrails app

I was in the area of Port Blantford / Clarenville and wanted to do a good hike that wouldn't take me all day. This one will only take you about an hour to an hour and a half depending how quick you are, and the view at the top is definitely worth it.

Beautiful trail that takes you to an incredible view at the top of the mountain! Took us about an hour to do the loop and there were a few benches along the way. Signage was pretty good too

Re routed trail? Poorly marked. Cut trees were hazardous to walk over. Had to turn around. Poor experience overall. Too bad. Won't be back.

Good trail but defiantly need more signage in certain areas.
