Lovely Mary greeted us in a tiny workshop in the most wondrous setting. Beautiful wood work by her husband and funky raiku pottery (freehand) of whimsical creatures and sculptures made by her. She also gave us reccomandations for other artists and placesto eat. Thanks. It is worth the small detour!

We saw their signs on the road and stopped by on a whim, and are so glad we did. Mary Jane and Mark were great to talk to and their work has a very unique style. They were a great experience on our trip and we enjoyed getting to see the work of local artists and craftsmen.

A lovely little pottery studio to visit on the way to or back from Peggy's Cove. Mary makes raiku (hand-shaped) pottery inspired by local animals, while her husband carves various items including a beautiful sandpiper sculpture we bought.Mary is so friendly and has great suggestions for local places to eat - and even where to find other local artists who make what you're looking for (Thanks Mary for the lighthouse shop suggestion - I found my lighthouse for my garden!)A lovely spot with lovely people. Definitely take the time to make the small detour to visit, browse, and maybe find a little souvenir.

Happy that we stopped to this studio on our drive. It was one part woodworking and one part pottery- and both sides had beautiful hand made items in a range of prices.We wound up with a new birdhouse and a great little jellyfish ornament. The in house artisan, Mary Jane, was a pleasure to chat with and gave us great insight into spots in the local area.I would absolutely recommend adding this spot to your plans!
