Petley-Hare Limited Insurance Brokers

You're expected to pay on a certain date that they don't take your money for every single month. They are always 4 or 5 days late taking the money and give you 0 options to pay prior and then just charge you double if you're a cent off. Worst insurance brokers ever. They won't even accept any payments which should be against the law, because they literally plan to not take the money out when they say they will. Then they tell you that you aren't allowed to pay before the given date.. because they get more knowing Netflix or something screws you out of a dime.

One of the worst insurance experiences I've ever had. I had purchased home and auto a few months ago through Sarah Taylor (New customer team) which was fine. But everything started going downhill after our contact was moved over to their customer success team. We ended up working with Lori McLeod and Christine McKelvie. We got a new car and decided to add it to our policy, however the first payment taken was over $100 more than the payment schedule outlined, we asked why this was the case and still have not recieved an answer or a refund if it was a mistake. Next situation asked to get a quote to potentially add my wife's younger brother to the policy as an occasional driver - he was back for the summer from school, our decision to let him drive our vehicle was contingent on the cost. However she automatically added him to the policy, which obviously caused an increase to our premium (+$100/month), for whatever reason this also took 4 weeks to update on the policy. Then when asked if we can remove him we were told we could have him sign a letter confirming he would not drive but this was never resolved. Then we notice errors in our driver information, they had my wife listed with only 3 years of being licensed but she has over 15 years, we're not sure if that impacted our rate but still not confidence building, also this was not corrected when we asked. Overall there were too many mistakes, difficulty communicating, lack of any resolutions, and more expensive premiums so we ultimately decided to switch and purchase direct. We went online to TD to get a quote and it was immediately lower than anything quoted from Petely. To add insult to injury in order to cancel the policy we had to pay $982.*Update* In response to their reply, we were aware of the options to remove the occasional driver due to his address being the same. However the issue was that your team did not follow up after we asked to move forward with the removal process. We provided plenty of opportunities for your team to correct these issues and none of them were resolved including the payment discrepancies. Outside from your reply to this comment, your team has not actually contacted me to resolve these issues. Empty PR response to make it seem like you actually are going to fix this. Happy to update this if something changes.

Answered all my questions without making me feel “Inadequate” as I have never set up home insurance and this was for my elderly mother needing tenant insurance. Promptly returned calls and emails. Clarification of information in a manner that was very easy to understand. Highly recommended. Even let me know would be stepping out of the office for 2 hours in case I needed to reach her! I have never seen an insurance broker who does its best to explain insurance purchases for customers and kindly help them. I moved all three insurances for my car, home, and office to Petley Hare a week ago, and I had numerous emails and calls with Stuart Scott, solving all the paperwork and problems that the previous insurance company and previous broker since 11 years ago. Thanks again to Stuart Scott for saving me a lot of time and money. Truly the best insurance broker ever.
