DON’T DO IT !!Had our roof done by Kientz Construction June 2012. Not knowing,but since the installation the roof has been leaking near the chimney & damaged the bathrooms up stairs & down. Rotten drywall, mold, you name it over the course of three years ! Now October 2015We called John and he came over, found the problem and fixed it ( the Leak ) and agreed to fix damages caused from the leaking roof. ( Hole ) Call after call, would NOT return the calls.We called our Insurance, they came in, fixed the damage. ( $3800.00 ) later. $1000.00 deductible, we lost our 5 year claims free discount and now the Insurance can’t get in contact with Kienitz Contruction.He would not return their calls. Lawyers are now getting involved!!A reputable business would try in every way possible to satisfy their clients !Be aware, STAY AWAY from this Company

Kienitz Roofing is our families go-to roofing company; having completed my roof, my Mothers and my Grandparents roofs over the last 4 years.John and his crew were respectful, on budget, and our property was cleaned up to a point that we didn't even know they were there; minus the brand new roof they installed of course!Myself and my family have been happy to refer Kienitz roofing to our friends and neighbours, and will continue to do so!

John Kienitz did an excellent job on the roof of our house. Along with replacing the shingles, we got two skylights replaced. He also fixed the gable vent and installed downspout from the eaves which had fallen off during high winds. Their pricing is very transparent and affordable.Thank you John

I can’t say enough good things about John. He did our roof two summers ago and he was so efficient and professional. The cleanup was impeccable even after taking two layers of shingles off. When we added a new plumbing stack this year he came over right away to make sure everything was all good after we were concerned the plumber did not do it correctly. John was over the same day to take a look. Cant thank him enough for the excellent job on our roof and willingness to help in a moments notice. He is always reliable and there when we need him. It’s so refreshing to find a contractor you can trust years later. I would definitely recommend John to anyone looking to have their roof done or any of the other services he provides.

called John about a leak we were having. He came over on Monday to evaluate the job. Later that afternoon the shingles were delivered and John was there Tuesday morning to begin work. Unfortunately it rained later in the morning but he returned Wednesday at 8:30 and the job was completed by noon. Price he quoted was exactly what we paid. A rarity I find these days. The area around the work was cleaned so well you wouldn't have known he was here. I couldn't be happier with the work he did and would have no problem recommending them for future work.

Consistent with the other reviews on here we have had a similar experience with John and his business. Early in the spring of 2021 (March) we reached out to numerous roofing contractors looking to replace our eaves troughs as many of them leak and are irreparable. John was one of the first to respond and made an appointment to come out and give us a quote. After receiving his written quote we told him we would like him to do the job for us. He responded and assured us that once the nicer weather arrives he will be able to start. He told us it would be less than a day to complete the job once he gets started. A month passed and the weather was was getting better. I reached out to John and asked him if he had an idea of when he could come out. He said he had a few jobs ahead of us and he would be able to come next week. It is now October and after several attempts to reach out to him to ask if he is still doing our troughs I have not received any response whatsoever. The time wasted waiting for John we could have booked someone else as it is sometimes hard to get roofing contractors booked in the middle of summer.We are very frustrated with John and his lack of communication and professionalism. Luckily he did not take a deposit as I'm sure that would be a nightmare trying to get back.We do not recommend Kienitz.

My neighbour and I had the roof on our semi detached done a few years ago. The work was well done and quick. We lost some shingles in the wind storm on May 04, 2018. John was out the next day to fix the problem. Great work and quick to help.

UPDATE: We tried one last attempt to contact John in January 2021. He responded quickly and came by to fix the first floor eaves the next day. He was unable to fix the second story eaves due to safety in the snow (completely understandable), but has said he will return to fix that when the weather allows. I will update this review again when this happens.ORIGINAL MESSAGE:My wife and I engaged Kienitz Construction in the spring of 2020 to redo the gutters on our house. Initially, the experience was fine. The work was completed quickly by John (owner) and one assistant, and the communication was relatively consistent.Upon completion, we were told that, if there was anything that needed fixing up or adjustments after the first rain, we should call, and John would come out again to make any required fixes.After the first rain had come and gone, we noticed a large wet patch on our driveway, and saw that there was a leak coming from one end of the gutter. A similar leak was a big reason why we were getting out gutters replaced in the first place, as it had led to a fall and a couple other close calls last winter. In addition to that leak, there was a large wet patch on the wall under one gutter, where the downspout from the second story reached the first story.After a couple of back and forths, John's assistant came to have a look. He explained that he would try and fix it himself, but that it might actually be a two-person job, so if his repair did not take, so call back again.The attempted fix did not impact the leak at all, so we called John again. We received one response that his truck had broken down, so that was why he had been unable to attend our home to fix the eaves the previous week.Since then, my wife and I have both called and emailed John numerous times to find out when he would be coming to fix his work. We have not received the courtesy of a response, with over a dozen phone calls and emails going unanswered.It is now five months later, and we've just had someone else come to fix the issue. I'm pleased to have the issue sorted, but am extremely frustrated with the experience with Kienitz.

Amazing work! I had a washroom ceiling fan problem lingering for a couple years and numerous contractors could not fix the problem. When I turned to Kienitz Roofing they had the problem fixed the next day and up to code. Great price, great work and amazing service! Thank you to John and the Kienitz Roofing crew! #GreatlyAppreciated
