Great helpful staff. Better selection of left handed guitars than other stores i have seen in the area.It is nice to know i can get a nice P or J bass easy.Their staff also like metal which is cool.

James was helping us and is a great guy.We are so happy they can fix our daughters guitar in 10 days or so.I’m shocked how huge their store is and it has lots of different musical instruments even has lessons and rentals.

Wildly bad experience in rentals here. Staff member seemed to have little to no knowledge of what equipment the store rents, what the equipment does, and also managed to be patronizing about it at the same time. It was the worst experience I’ve had at a Long and McQuade.If you need to rent audio equipment, go to Vistek instead, the experience was night and day compared to these jokers.

I went to L&M to pick up a couple things for my guitar and look into some rentals for a party as well as guitar pedals/loopers. I needed a lot of support to answer my questions and figure out what I needed and the staff were incredible helpful (Christian was very knowledgeable and patient with me).It was also my first time renting gear through L&M and the staff were accommodating with some of the complexities of my case. The Asst. Manager Shaun in particular was collaborative, open-minded, and thoughtful with the customer service he provided support and contributed to a very memorable positive experience at his store. This store has a special place in my heart, and I'm looking forward to shopping again here soon!

I had a fantastic interaction at this location trading in my guitar. Shaun, the L&M staffer I worked with, was expedient, helpful, and very knowledgable. He went above and beyond to make the experience a really positive one. I'll be back for sure!

I've been to the store 6 or 7 times now looking at guitars. Not once has anyone even remotely asked if I have a question or need assistance. Plenty of staff at the front counter...not becuase their busy. Even overheard one employee joke to the other that they don't help people. Went to Steve's Music and was asked within 2 minutes. Set me up to try a few, answered questions. Exactly what I'd expect. Guess where I'll be going.

I was very happy Long and McQuade invested in a store here in the East of Ottawa (Orleans) as it has certainly made the basics much easier to acquire. Prior to this store being built, it was a long drive just to get strings.This store has become an asset to our community offering a full selection of instruments, lessons and repair services and it has been managed by a seasoned manager with Long and McQuade, Pat.The employees are generally excellent, in particular I like to work with Ryan and Paul who have both helped me acquire special orders and have provided useful advice about products under consideration.The store has a good balance of musicians on staff, not just guitar players, including people with lots of recording experience, so most of my questions have been answered very well.Pricing at Long and McQuade is never flexible, however, store policies are fair and reasonable, and it is a stable place to buy gear. LandM have extras like extended warranty (usually very affordable) that help separate them from smaller stores. They also do financing if you want to take advantage of it. The financing rates are a bit higher running from 19% up, but if it makes the difference in being able to get what you need, at least it is an option.I recommend this store without hesitation.

I was trying to change the strings on my guitar and a bridge pin would not budge. I called the store and they told me to just bring it in. A staff member helped me immediately and proceeded to work out the pin along with the rest I didn’t get to yet. He even cleaned up the frets and headstock which made my guitar look like new. All this without even charging me. They just wanted to help and avoid damaging my guitar.I will certainly go back to this store for all my instrument needs.Thank you for the excellent service!
