Independent Taxi

We are staying at a hotel and had ordered food to be delivered by cab. We chose this company due to the good reviews. What a nightmare. They failed to tell us over the phone they are cash only, when they showed up I asked to pay with visa to find out they got rid of them 2 weeks ago. So the driver offered to have us e transfer the money. Because of this I rounded up to the nearest $10 value to give them a tip of almost $5 for their patience. I had the driver watch as I sent the e transfer and we went inside. 5 minutes later the cab driver is knocking on the door asking me to cancel and re send my e transfer because it still had not shown up. We explained it sometimes takes time to receive e transfer showed her it was still pending but did as asked cancelled and re sent it again directly in front of the driver. 10 Minutes later she knocked again and said it still wasn't in and I was to pay her to drive me to a store to get cash to pay. I explained I was trying to get a baby to sleep and didn't even have the funds available to pay for that drive. Next after that was well pay or return the food" which at this point since we had believed her seeing us send the transfer was proof enough had been consumed. After that I was informed if we didn't have cash RCMP would be contacted. We called someone to bring cash and told them they would be here with it in 5-10 minutes

If you wanna be robbed of all your money use this company. Very unprofessional company. Very rude owners just disgusted.

This company and driver were just wonderful. My daughter goes to school in NB. She spent the Christmas holidays with my family in Maine. She needed to get back to school and was traveling alone, so naturally we were worried about her safety. Could not find a taxi company in Maine that would take her across the border. Tricia from Independent Taxi agreed immediately and told me not to worry and that she had a daughter too and would take care of her. She picked her up in Houlton at the bus stop, took her through US and Canadian Customs, and to her wonderful Bed and Breakfast (Bridgett's B + B) which she had recommended all for $50. What a deal! She treated our daughter like her own. I would definitely recommend this taxi company to anyone. Tricia treated us like we were family.

What kind of cab company refuses to come and pick you up on a 40 dollar fare unless you etransfer the 40 dollars first man didn't know the cab business was hurting

Every 3rd order is wrong or not the right cigs or they forget I even placed a order and yesterday waited 1hr and 40 mins for a six pack of beer done with this company.

Asked for delivery from McDonald’s the driver was really rude. Dif not give me time to speak. Wanted to pick me up to take me there which I’ve done delivery multiple times and had no problems with Bills but unfortunately they are closed. Also, I needed to get dropped off at one place after food being delivered so Whoever was on was just trying to overcharge me. Not impressed since he hung up on me saying he didn’t trust me. Where did this guys customer service come from?? It was complete garbage…. I’ve used independent before and I have had a couple drivers who are friendly others are just rude and unwilling like this guy. I gave him an address, a phone number.AND my name so he would be able to locate me. Asked to meet at a bank too because I’d be getting money out from there . Food had already been paid for too so I didn’t see the problem of him picking it up for me….which I had stated as well but this guyyyy was the type to drive me to write a bad customer review and tomorrow I’m sending out a complaint but I don’t even think that will do any good because it’s like maybe they don’t care for their customers???

I can always rely on them.If no one is available Trish will come and pick you up even when she is dispatching.Awesome.

Fast service, pleasant and friendly.They did a good delivery and I was impressed!I don’t know where the other complaints are coming from, all my experience has been great!
