When Hounds Fly (South Etobicoke)

Such a fantastic training facility and team! We have taken multiple classes here and at other WHF locations and have had such a great experience every time. The instructors are very knowledgeable and adapt the lesson/exercises to the dogs/owners as needed to ensure everyone learns and succeeds. Highly recommended!

Both my pup and I are enjoying the Agility 2 class. Having 3 instructors allows for some 1-on-1 time. Lively, in a spacious room. An observation: teaching is in segments, so at the end of level 2 we have not yet mastered any one skill completely.Update: Agility 3 looks promising - session 1 was a blast.

Today we had a phone consultation to book the 6 week Agility training for our 2.5 Y/O dog who has completed all levels of training including advanced training ... to only discover that they require a test to ensure our dog is suitable for the course .... (Which I totally respect) but they are charging $150 to let me know if my dog is suitable .... which he is and have proof from all his training certificates. I feel as if this is a terribly high 'cash grab' and should have different ways such as a video submission option to show a dogs ability. IT is very disappointing as they were referred by friends who go here.Be ware of the extra fees before getting your hopes up here.

I love When Hounds Fly. We have only been at the South Etobicoke location. We are on our second set of classes and we couldn’t speak higher of the instructors. Both Hu and Rachael are phenomenal. They do small number, group classes that feel almost like private. That you can also supplement with puppy play sessions, where you get to have your pup play with other pups in a controlled trainer supervised setting. They tailor the classes to each pup and offer so much help with troubleshooting different struggles. They offer office hours which are online sessions that allow you to ask questions in between training classes. They also offer a good selection of higher knowledge programs like trick and agility classes. And just incase you’re still on the fence they offer the ability to book your classes at any of their locations so you can fit the class into your schedule. “Thanks for being awesome” - Cannoli

The puppy drop-ins are great! Stephaine has been helpful with my 5 month old golden retriever who is fearful of other dogs. He has made some progress and we are looking forward to starting the foundations training classes soon!

Hu, our instructor is always giving helpful suggestions to help us with our dog Freddy. I like that he models what should be done, taking turns with each dog.

The instructors are very knowledgable and so patient. We felt very supported throughout the entire course. Our dog is in a much more confident and happy mindset because of them. Thanks so much!

My partner and I first met Christina Taccogna during our Puppy Start Right group classes with When Hounds Fly. We enjoyed her group classes so much, we decided to book a follow-up one-on-one class with her. Chris was incredibly patient with our anxious puppy Finley. She make him feel comfortable, took the time to do a very detailed survey to truly understand both what his needs were as well as what our goals were, and helped address each of our concerns (from anxiety to leash pulling) and chart a way forward. One thing that really stuck out to us was how she inspired us to be the best advocate for Finley. It's very clear that she's very passionate about her work, and we were very impressed by her deep pool of knowledge and experience. We highly recommend Christina as an instructor for any new puppy parents!

Had a great experience with When Hounds Fly. I purchased two puppy packages for two new small dogs. It was considered a big investment but worth the price. My puppies really came out of their shell. They were shy and timid on class 1... And by the last class they were zooming around with other dogs and so confident. It was so amazing to see them gain that confidence in a safe environment. Rebecca and Hu were both knowledgable and patient with all the puppies in the class. Despite me owning dogs previously, I still took away a lot of tips and info to use throughout their lives. They also made break time play sessions really safe and protected my dogs from being too stressed... And I really think that safe space is what completely changed my puppies reaction to meeting other dogs. They wouldn't have been able to learn and grow like that at a random dog park for socialization. One week they are running and hiding and fear barking at other dogs... And a couple weeks later they are all wags and happy sniffs and welcoming to small and large dogs! Couldn't be happier! Thank you so much Rebecca and Hu!!
