Sonder The Slate
Fabulous location. Amazing bang for the buck. Stayed here 7 nights and got a massive discount bc I booked through the app and I got a discount for using the app and a further discount for staying a week. Cannot get over how cheap it was for how nice my room was. Well furnished. Clean. Elegant. I always stay w sonder no matter where I go now bc no other company in the world provides such amazing apartments for so cheap. Very impressed w this company

Amazing experience! We’ve stayed here twice and both times were a 10/10. The location is perfect, easy access to many streetcar lines and walkable distance to downtown and more. The room is clean, comfortable and aesthetic. Big bathtub with 2 shower heads. The view is great, the beds are comfy and the elevators work great. The app and checkin is easy to use and very intuitive. We always got approved for early check in / check out even when we asked the night before. Any questions were answered right away and with detail. The slate feels like a unique hotel experience. It’s a more independent stay without a receptionist which makes it feel like “your home away from home” but more luxurious ;) Sonder will be our go to !

The Sonder the Slate is located quite perfectly in the middle of the city. Its quite convenient, rooms were clean. But, it does not have room service, nor bath utensils. I think you can order a room service. There is no reception - sometimes there are Sonder team members around, very friendly. Its is very very loud though. not only you hear everything from the streets, but also from the other rooms, door clapping etc.Its on the less expensive side, but still quite expensive for what is is.

Rooms are nice but absolutely no Service included and nobody is on site - price is not justified, but this is the business strategy (driven by maximizing income) of SONDER: an accountant is no good host.If you stay short (1-2 nights) it may be ok, but longer stays are definitively not recommended.

Room was really breath-taking. Only minor thing letting it down was that there could have been a little table near the bath (when I had a soak I moved a bedside table into the bathroom). Weirdly heavy bathroom door but altogether a beautiful room; very luxurious for the price-point.Service - the people who worked for Sonder who I encountered were friendly and helpful, however no actual check-in staff. Granted, this keeps the cost down! And the location: noisy but hey, it’s in the heart of Toronto with the CN tower a stone’s throw away. Maybe the windows could be soundproofed better but honestly, pop the ear plugs in and enjoy being in the centre of it all.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It’s in a convenient location so that’s a plus. The rooms have bath tubs so that’s a plus. But if you end up with a room on the back side of the building your view is another building which will soon be occupied by humans so there is ZERO privacy if and when the window blinds are up. The rooms are loud but they give you ear plugs and a white noise machine which we had to use in order to sleep. The place was clean but could have been cleaner and all of the less than desirable points could be over looked IF the price per night was better.

Absolutely shameful in that it is 11pm and I am currently locked out of my room and still waiting for an update. Mobile key tech seems to be unreliable and while the code to enter the building works, the same one will not let me enter the room. Online chat rep trying to resolve but with an early flight looming my patience has worn thin. Expensive for the overall quality, lacking in room amenities (no cutlery, extra blankets, extra charge for cleaning etc) and the slipshod attention to detail in terms of finishings will result in my never booking a Sonder again. Do better.

Customer service was fantastic and super fast to reply.Close to everything you really need. We had an issue with our bathtub in the first room, but the manager (Izzy) hooked us up and we will now be making at point to stay with this chain whenever available.

I have never worked with such useless people. Stay clear of this place they canceled my reservation while in the air flying to them for a reason I could never find out the people on the phone it must have been their first day as a person. Quite literally watch your back if you book with them they will pull the rug out from under you for no conceptual reason even before you get there.Worst place possible

Bad experience, I would strongly recommend against staying here. Not sure how this place is rated 3.6. I would rate it far lower simply do to the customer service. There was an altercation in the unit next to us, started off verbal in the middle of the night and turned physical. Sonder did nothing to respond until 3 hours later. Sounder’s customer service was also non-accommodative and only offered $80 for the “noise”. I would have expected a hospitality business to offer either a credit for another stay or refund for the inconvenience and to reassure their customers. Simply not the case.Besides that unfortunate circumstance. The furniture is aesthetic although not functional. The walls are paper thin and the windows don’t offer any sound isolation from the street. Finishings around the entire suite are poor (excess glue, poor paint, holes, damage, etc). I could keep going but I think you understand what I’m sayingAll things considered, this should be a 2-star hotel, but I understand some rooms Sonder offers are really affordable. I would strongly recommend you do yourself the biggest favour and avoid Sonder.
