I work in human and social services. One of our residents came to Legal Aid and was assigned a student lawyer that based their immigration case on little-to-no knowledge of the client’s immigration history.Long story short, in the end, the client’s application was refused (which wasn’t surprising) because the case had not been properly assessed and they did not take the time to get to know the client. I’m not sure I can recommend this agency to represent anyone, especially people in need and that are on the outskirts of society.

They are still observing covid restrictionsNot yet are giving advice in person but it is possible by phone calls also is the chance to meet with an lawyer student from different universities just you have to apply at least 3 or 4 weeks in advance to qualify.

I called today at 1:40 and the person who answered the phone interrupted me when i was speaking and the person i was calling about for my change of counsel case, said that person wasn't working and to call later or i would have to wait 1.5 hours on hold.I have called 4 times in the last month to try and get the same person to contact me back. Even emails to that one person and still no replies. This place is so disorganised its embarassing.

Finding a lawyer takes forever. FOREVER. Please seek for a private practicing attorney if your matter is urgent. Or plan to wait at least 3 weeks before a lawyer can be assigned to u.
