Unfortunately I didn't like the service, I was left with an empty glass of water. The fish cakes and salads was good. I decided to left the restaurant earlier because she didn't go to see if everything was ok. Hope the service improve.

Very friendly service even though they were really busy so the odd thing was forgotten. Local beer choices and good pub food - we ate in the pub downstairs which seemed to have more people and therefore atmosphere than the restaurant. Sandwiches and salads were generous and the bacon wrapped scallop plate was tasty. It’s right near the water so great views of the ferry harbour.

We had a nice meal--one of us taking advantage of the breakfast served anytime. The view is very nice. Service left something to be desired. We were seated at a table that needed to be cleaned (at our request for the outdoor view) but it took a while for it to be cleaned. It took a while for our order to come also with someone who came in later being served earlier. With a location like this, a lot more could be done to make this a great place.

We were a group of 6. Some of us did not receive our food until others were finished. Some served cold. Salads eaten long before dressing was served as we had to catch the ferry. Tartar sauce also received after fish entrees eaten. Bathroom was unsanitary. Most of these issues were caused by extreme understaffing which is likely not the fault of the establishment, or our only server that evening

Restaurant seems clean and a greatlocation.Me and my family ordered two soups and a wrap at 7:40pm and it didn’t arrive until 8:45Crazy because the place wasn’t busy but we watched 4 tables leave because they waited over a hour for their food and didn’t get it.

Mussels were a treat. And the Fishcakes were pretty darn tasty.Outdoor, harbour side patio provided a good vantage to watch the ferry arrive.

We enjoy having a meal or two every time we are in Port Aux Basques. Delicious food, lots of options even for non-seafood people a d beautiful view of the water. We were a bit disappointed last visit as once we had our meal, no one came back to ask if we were good or wanted anything else like dessert.

Well, read the reviews and thought, let’s give it a try. So very glad we did!! Our waitress Chloe was sweet and kind. She was patient with all of our questions. We had the ribs (FALL OFF THE BONE), scallops, shrimp skewer and mussels. All delicious. The view is beautiful!I don’t understand the negative reviews; if you are in a rush, go get fast food. You are in Newfoundland, put your phone down, talk to people around you and ‘please and thank you’ go a long way in these parts. Heading back to the mainland tomorrow and hope to be back next summer❤️

Food was mediocre at best. Eggs were barely cooked: still clear and runny, the rest was bland.Service was bad. One of the two servers obviously didn't want to be there. We spent two hours there between waiting for the food and waiting for the bill. We wanted dessert but avoided due to time. Server kept looking out and seeing that we were finished, or needed water etc. but never came over. Was not busy at all; only three tables.Cost over $20 for one large breakfast: no drink. Would not eat here again.

Waited over an hour for our meals, two of three meals were not quite what we ordered, food was Okay only, and the waitress overcharged us. It was BOGO 1/2 off burgers but we paid in full. Recommend you ask how long food will be before you order and check your meal closely.
