Downtown Victoria Urgent and Primary Care Centre

I used to go here since last year I moved to Victoria for school, and have always had a good experience. (2 stars are for that). BUT,The last 2 doctors who visited me were terrible. One of them basically kicked me out saying your time is over, and belittled me so bad I walked out crying.I decided to get another appointment with another dr. The next one was not any better. I am dealing with complicated grief and he acted like I am making excuses to get drugs. I was truly looking for some help and was telling him my symptoms after taking a new medication. It makes me feel so small every time I remember that interaction. I'm crying writing this.Doctors are supposed to make a safe place for the patients. I was too uncomfortable to talk. I got nervous under the Dr's judgements pressure. They both had 0 compassion. Seems like the person sitting there seeking help is an object to them. I felt harshly judged and mistreated, I am NEVER going back there.

I've been trying to book an appointment here for the last 4 days.I finally got through to someone, I let them know I was dizzy and may have an ear infection. I was told That's not going to cut it" and to call back tomorrow.Edit : Day 8 of calling in the morning. Don't waste your time. Reviews I've read also have mentioned they were misdiagnosed.So if you manage to get through to someone and somehow get an appointment there is also a chance they won't even help you."

I can't say enough positive things about this care centre and all of the people ithat treated me over the past few weeks. From the front reception to every doctor and nurse I felt like I was important to them. They went out of their way to provide the care I needed and the education I needed for continued care on my own at home. I hope they read this thank you from me!

Love the reception staff, extremely efficient y'all! Great job! My 2 stars instead of 4 is because I dealt with Dr. Cooze today and he was very condescending. I have a history with the medical issues I am currently dealing with and was not convinced he was giving accurate information. At one point he said, and this is almost verbatim I'm not sure why you're here if you're not going to listen" that is NOT an acceptable way to talk a patient. Did end up getting the medication I figured I would need

Not happy with this place at all. Have been incredibly ill since 2021. Was dealing with Dr. Smith. Met with him in person and over the phone. Don't even think he believed my complaints, given the tone of the conversation. He sent me for a CT scan in May 2022, and indicated if it came back negative, he was going to refer me to a GI Specialist. Have contacted this clinic twice in the past year to see if this was actually reality. Must be some sort of joke, as I never did receive a referral to a GI Specialist, nor did I receive a call back from the two times I called the clinic. Doesn't surprise me based on the rest of the reviews I read. It's quite sad that a clinic operates this way. Make false promises and then ghost you. Been so sick, feels like I'm knocking on deaths door. Thanks for ghosting me!!!

There is a Doctor here I really like. She is very thorough and kind. But the phone system is a nightmare. And a couple of the ladies who answer the phones are very rude, wont let you finish a sentence, no matter how patient you are being they treat the caller as hostile. Its bad enough we have to compete to see a Doc, that we also have to take that from your burnt out staff. Please support your staff better for the benefit of the community.

first of all I appreciated this place accepting me in the same day as I was concerned my condition. However I did not see , unfortunately, the professionalism in the staff...everyone was wearing something you would wear for the exercise....don't look clean and neat which I want to see in the medical place. Dr. was friendly , BUT he refused to listen to my concern...a few times he stopped my talking, I thought Dr. would see the situation through the patient's concerns. I see he is a new generation who can ON and OFF in the computer. not between. so he treats us ON and OFF.I realized they have a tight schedule. For him my condition was just anything serious, However for me, it was a concern. The office was clean and beautiful, I can see that they are trying to make the place comfortable and friendly. But if the Dr. acted only by pressure from Time, Not from the concern for the patients. they failed to provide Medical treatment to the patients. I was quite disappointed and afraid of the future as I get older. In some sense Dr. was successful to deliver his message that I should not get sick . Anyway my situation was not serious , thankful to his explanation in a hurry. I felt sorry for Dr. for the time pressure not being able to hear the patient.As I see all those high rise building built in downtown, I suggest every high-rise should have a small medical office in it. And Gov. should plan something to attract Dr. to our city.Anyway I want to thank you.

Just spent an hour to get through, only to find out that all of their physician appts are full for the day. Which is fine- I get it. However, their phone message system says that you would be disconnected after 30 mins on hold. I was consistently disconnected after 16 minutes and forced to the back of the queue.My issue is that when I mentioned this to the person on the phone, she got incredibly defensive and accused me of attacking her, someone who had no power over the phone message. I wasn't implying that she could change it, only that it should be passed along. I have a lot of empathy for the people who work in this industry, so maybe she just had a bad patient before me, but it didn't feel great when I wasn't actually attacking her.All this to say, you will get disconnected after 16 minutes. She did refer to me to Dr. Refill online for a prescription refill, so I would recommend doing that instead of trying the walk in.

I had an excellent first experience here today. I was able to get a same-day appointment after waiting about 20 minutes on hold (definitely call immediately at 8:30am in order to ensure you get through quicker). The receptionist was courteous and friendly over the phone, and so were the staff when I arrived. The young male doctor (I wish I remembered your name, sorry!) I got was excellent, very professional and thorough, and I hope to have him again in future. Thank you all and much respect.
