My parents have lived at Chartwell Pembroke Heritage for almost 2 years. It was a difficult decision to accept they needed more care and leave their family home. The staff at Chartwell have been so wonderful to help transition them into retirement living. Billy Tippett went above and beyond to find them the best adjoining rooms to meet their needs. He met us on a weekend (his day off) to do a tour. He even helped with furniture placement and made suggestions on what should stay. The level of care they have received from day one has been top notch. They are thriving there and have settled in to make friendships with other residents and now call it their home. I live a distance away and can’t always be there but it is comforting to receive calls from the care staff (Mary and Laura)regarding their care needs, as well as the resident family email updates from Holly MacDonald, the GM. They go above and beyond to accommodate and help where needed. We even enjoyed a family meal together in the country kitchen. It was wonderful to have a separate place for all of us to sit and be together without having to leave the building. My parents are proud to call Chartwell Pembroke Heritage their home and know they have access to more than just their rooms. They are supported and we find comfort in knowing they have access to more care onsite as they continue to ease into their golden years. A big thank you to all of the management team, Ashley (health & wellness), Meagen (office admin), Corey (maintenance) and his housekeeping team, Linda (food services)and all the serving team, Mackenzie (lifestyle & programming) I am truly grateful. Thank you for all you do daily for my parents and all the residents. Your efforts are so appreciated.

My mother, brother and I are deeply grateful to the helpful staff at Pembroke Heritage for helping us find safe, comfortable and comprehensive respite care for my father during a difficult period for the family.Although there is always a genuine will to do so and sometimes even an innocently misguided feeling that we'll figure it out when we get there, few are truly ready to tackle the challenges that come with aging. Thankfully, from our first interaction onwards, the staff at Pembroke Heritage helped smooth the learning curve by being consistently patient, informative, attentive, professional, and sensitive to the timely and variable nature of our situation, providing us with a good measure of hope as well as with the necessary confidence to move forward with the next phase of what had clearly become the best option for my father.The facility we toured was beautiful, spacious and sunny; we learned that access to activities, food, and care could and would all be tailored – to an impressive degree – to my father's personal tastes and needs. Needless to say, my father has so far been delighted with his stay!In particular, we'd like to extend sincere thanks to William Tippett for the personable and excellent service delivered to us during our introductory discussions and all subsequent follow-ups. Chartwell Heritage manor is an outstanding retirement home. The very capable and professional staff look after each and every detail. From the manager to the nursing staff, kitchen folks they make sure your new retirement home is everything it can be.I have been entertaining for decades here and enjoy each date I return to play my songs, tell my stories and make memories. We have been looking for a safe and comfortable place for our mother for the last few months. Our parents have lived in this area for over 50 years and after our father passed last year we started to look for a retirement community for our mother. After touring three different facilities in Pembroke, we have chosen Chartwell Pembroke Heritage Retirement Residence. Billy Tippett was simply amazing. My two sisters and I, along with our mother, wanted to be able to tour it together and Billy agreed to come in to meet us on a Sunday afternoon, giving up an afternoon of his weekend. We were all very impressed with the brightness and beauty of the facility. We met staff and residence who were so friendly and welcoming. I believe Billy knew the names of all the residents we encountered. Mom was very happy and decided that this was the perfect place for her. Thank you Billy from all of us.

My family and I met with Billy Tippet on separate occasions in order to relocate my mother . We found Billy and staff to be patient, accommodating, compassionite and caring. I believe that his professionalism helped relieve any trepidation that the family may have had. The ice-cream bars was a nice touch.Thank you.Greg

My name is Michelle and I live in Petawawa. As a postgraduate student in the Retirement Communities Management Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, I was nervous about finding a local retirement home to complete my placement requirements. I reached out to Holly MacDonald, GM at the Chartwell Pembroke Heritage Retirement Residence in Pembroke to see if I could complete my hours with her and her staff. From the first time I stepped into the building, I knew I had found the right fit! During my time, I spent a day or 2 with all the managers and learned SO much from each one of them. It was an amazing experience to see what I have studied in a classroom, happen in real time. The front-line staff are also amazing people, who work very hard, and they genuinely care about the residents. I loved the residents and got to know a few of them, which was a bonus to my experience! I wouldn't hesitate to have someone I love live at Chartwell Pembroke Heritage home. As I move forward in my career, I am hopeful that I will be able to work with the high calibre of people who work with Holly to make Pembroke Heritage the amazing residence that it is!

My parents moved into Chartwell over 2 years ago and I have appreciated how well they have been supported and valued by the staff. I live over 5 hours away and almost every time I call I hear one of the staff checking in on them and I know they hold the nurses and PSW staff in high regard. I also was impressed at how approachable and helpful the Admissions Coordinator Billy Tippett was with their transition into the home and has always been available to assist with any concerns or questions that either I or my sisters have in relation to the care my parents receive there. Thank you for the dignity and care the staff promotes at the home.

I am writing a little note to tell all the staff from top to bottom how well Keith and I have been welcomed on our arrival.After a few days in, we were hit with the covid virus. Two weeks of complete isolation was handled with nothing but support and kindness from all staff.Once over isolation, we have settled in and are enjoying our new life. However, with help and support from all staff we have come to feel at home.I hope everyone in all staff positions know how much you are appreciated.KEITH AND LIZ MARTIN
