I love the pool on the weekends, playing fun music and a good community feel. The change rooms are nice and the gym area has lots of youth but still respectful culture and a good variety of exercise machines.

A nice surprise to have such nice facility in Brantford. The building is renovated recently and have number of activities and programs. The gym and swimming pools are very nice. I visit often with my kids to do swimming. The pool is decent size and the environment is pleasant. However, the change rooms are very few and very small in size.Another drawback is there is no proper lounge or sitting area for the parents. The area at the foyer is used as waiting area but there are only few chairs. Many people have to keep standing due to lack of chairs. Not sure why the facility doesn’t arrange for more chairs. The building doesn’t have their own parking or street parking. However, you can park in the covered paid parking across the street. But you can get a token from YMCA reception and show it to the parking attendant at the exit which renders the parking free (for up to 2 hrs). I avoid the elevators and stairway of the parking as they stink horribly. No care from the City just like anything else.

The Brantford YMCA is the nicest looking location I have visited and I have visited a lot of YMCA's in my lifetime. The pools and workout areas are very modern, neat, and tidy. The staff are very personable and the hours of operation could not be more accomodating. I would be happy to give them 5 stars but I will only give them 4. This is why: There are no weigh scales in the change rooms where they would be most handy to track your accurate weight. You have to get dressed and go up a floor to the workout area and weigh yourself fully clothed. This is an easy fix and has been mentioned to the staff. Another peeve is the lockers. They are almost all half lockers which is way too small. In the winter if you walk to the YMCA you better not bring your coat or you'll need two lockers and hence two padlocks. This is another simple fix but it hasn't happened yet.With these two minor problems fixed I would say this particular YMCA is the best in the world.

Just signed up. I do really enjoy the workout area, very clean and machines are kept nice. What I did not appreciate was the lack of communication for pool hours. I signed up mostly for swimming and today after my workout I thought I’d get a swim workout in. I did notice kids and instructors there but also saw parents and grandparent going in as well plus they only used one side of the gym. No one stopped me letting me know the pool was closed, they let me put my towel down then when going into pool had the workers yelled saying it was closed l, an nicer life guard came up to me after I apologized stating I was new and had no idea and would reopen at 7:30. There is nowhere online that I could find for times so I assumed it was open to the public. Neither signage about closing the pool for lessons or whatever it was that was happening. It was very embarrassing to say the least and wished there was communication about that either when signing up or posted so everyone knows. Would save new members from the same experience. Not sure if it’s cause I suffer from anxiety but think should have knowledge if a member. Also not fond of how long it is closed for.

Was alright but very expensive even under a subsidy, now you have to take your parking ticket in for tokens, I usually leave it in the car so it doesn't get lost. Ridiculous policies

The place is a great facility for all ages. As a new parent our son can enjoy all the different amenities from the time he’s 1 till he’s 18. With a pool, sauna, and gym it’s an optimal place to relax and enjoy yourself.They are even promoting one free weeks trial to assimilate yourselves within.

My daughter and I are new to Brantford and we just went for a tour of the YMCA and received a free weeks pass. Matt was fantastic . It's BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN and HUGE. I just want to swim all my troubles away.I might even pick up a weight or two....or three, lol

So far, nothing but great things to say about this facility, its staff and its programs.Super helpful staff, walked me through signing my daughter up for swimming lessons with all the information and friendliness I could ever want. Even toured me through the facility, which is top-notch and state of the art. Membership is reasonably priced for what you get.And when my daughter had an issue during her swim lesson, the lifeguards were fast, professional and extremely sympathetic.Great job, Brantford Y!

They are the best. I recently lost my one card, the staff was so cooperative and friendly 'Judy'. called and informed me about my card too. The maintenance is excellent.
