I've lived in Calgary for over 20 years and I finally stopped here! Fish and chips were good. My piece of Halibut was more breading than fish but the taste was good. A good place to grab and go or eat outside.

Best value Fish n Chips in Calgary!!I always drive by this place on my way to work and finally get the chance to try it. The place is small with a few tables and patio area along Edmonton trail. They have a wide variety of fried seafoods including Halibut, Cod, Salmon, Haddock, Calamari, Oysters and many more! We tried the Halibut n Chips and Oysters n Chips. The Halibut is so good and very meaty! The batter is perfectly crisp and not too much flour. Taste great with their tartar sauce! But the best part is the fried Oysters! It taste so amazing and way better if you dip it on their malt vinegar! I would definitely come back here and try their other offerings. The owner/cook was very polite and humble and I will try my best to keep his small business afloat!

A 3.5-4 rating. This spot is more of a hit the spot and good value fish and chips. If you're looking for something unique, fancy, very traditional and the ultimate fish and chips...this would not be the spot for you. Really enjoyed the fish (six types avail: cod, haddock, halibut, sole, basa and salmon). Fyi - cod is thicker , firmer and less fishy tasting than haddock which is more fragile, thinner and fishy tasting. The fries here are ..ok. not the greatest but it is not your McCain fries type of ordeal either. Maybe described as very thick hard potato-ey and not mushy potato-ey. Two piece fish and chips is around $14 (not includ halibut). The owner here is friendly and quick to order. I would go for just fish next time and perhaps skip on the chips.

Got the basa and chips, clam chowder, and oysters. Basa perfectly battered and falls apart on ur mouth and the oysters were noice and big. Chowder could use a bit more salt.

Maybe I had high expectations for a place that specializes in just making fish&chips. The portions were small (very little fries). Overall, the fish was okish and light, but lacking flavor. Unfortunately, I will not come back and will not recommend it.

I should have tried this spot years ago...nice lightly battered and golden fried halibut. Prices definitely great and there is value here. Definitely going to be a regular visit.Side note: Tito Mango review...I asked for extra tartar and the older guy gave me 4...I read a bunch of your other reviews and they literally had me laughing so hard that I owe you for the entertainment it gave me.

We stop in here when we are in the area and have a craving for fish & chips. Most recent visit was disappointing. Not a lot of fries, was expecting a bit more for $14. Fish was crispy and cooked well, but fries were few and far between and fish was smaller than previous visits. Do appreciate that they cook it on order vs sitting around, it's tasty but barely 20 fries was disappointing.

We have passed by this fish and chip place many times. Always wondering if it's any good. I finally saw some reviews from a Facebook group and decided to drop by.First thing we noticed is that the seating area inside is small. Most people are getting take out. It has its old school charm. Prices were definitely lower than other places in town for fish and chips. We got halibut as it's namesake with chips. The pieces had a decent amount of batter but remained true to its beer-battered crisp. The fish portions were reasonable for the price. The chips are crispy yet tender inside. Overall, we would definitely come back if we are in the area.

The portions weren't worth the money. We had the two piece. The fish was okay but the smallest amount of fries that I have seen. They used to serve it British style and a big piece of paper with a generous amount of fries and fish. Now it's served on a plate and the portions are tiny.

Always great Fish n chips. Price is right. Staff is always friendly and sometimes the boss adds an extra piece of fish. Highly recommend it if you're looking for another fried fish joint.
