I called and booked a pick up a week in advance, when the day came the truck drove right past our house. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I called and booked again the following week, this time the driver showed up, but refused to take anything, as he said we don't take that stuff". Everything we had to take was on their web site as "acceptable" Salvation army was more than happy to take it."

My scheduled pick-up of a large donation was never fulfilled. I understand mistakes happen but when I rang to sort out the issue, the staff on the pick-up line was unapologetic, rude and unwilling to reschedule or assist in any way. The local office in Vancouver does not pick up their phone or return calls. I will have to find another charity in which to donate and as I don’t drive, this will be difficult. Shame on this organization for treating would-be-donors this way. Your end client is the one who suffers.

BAD EXPERIENCE. I also received a email confirming pickup time and date. I dutifully put out all my 7 big bags of clothing and 2 boxes of household items outside at 6 AM. The pickup was for 8 AM-6PM. Waited all day, nobody came. Found out the next day due to a mix up the person who sent me the confirmation email neglected to inform the local office of the pick up ! WELL, DUHH !!! It was my first time dealing with the Diabetes Canada and will be my last. You were terrible!

I've used them for the past 3 years. Easy to book a pick up online and they always take everything I leave out which is usually clothes, dishware, etc.

Ten days ago,the Canadian Diabetes Association contacted us, by telephone, asking for donations. The pick up date that was given at that time was Wednesday, March 30. The solicitor said I would be entered in a draw (I do not remember what the prize was). I gave our address and some special instructions to find our home as we do not live on the street. The person I was talking to insisted that they would be able to find us as the drivers have GPS. It is now 6:15 P.M. and my six large bags of donations is still sitting on the sidewalk in front of our home. Please get in touch with us if you are going to pick the donation up. Our name should be on your donation list.Thank you.

I was scheduled to give my donation for pick up last Tuesday...I even received the email confirming the pick up on Monday before..I left it outside...no body picked it up......so the next day, I carried the box of goods over to the Salvation Army Thrift store....the following Saturday, without a phone call or a Email confirmation...guess who came up to the door to pick up the box?? I told him...too bad...I gave the box to another charith

The employees are very rude and unprofessional. The person who was supposed to pick donations from my place cancelled the pick-up time without notifying me. I called and texted him but didn't get any respond back!!! Their service is absolutely one of the worst!

Unfortunately, we will have to stop donating to the charity. They have been unreliable for quite some time, but we wanted to give them a chance to rectify the logistical issues that they seem to be having. Our last four scheduled pick ups, no one has showed up. Just today, I called again to verify that we were on the list for today’s scheduled pick up (we received the email confirmation/ reminder yesterday). They reassured me that we were on the list, and told me to leave the donations out until 8pm in case the driver was behind schedule. I don’t understand how they can fund calling campaigns, knowing their collection services are so unreliable. Disappointed that they have yet to evaluate these program issues.

I was a temp worker from an agency and worked along side the drivers. They can be very unprofessional but do to the fact that there is a worker shortage and that there are so many donations bins to collect and houses to collect from, the company cannot afford to fire the drivers as there are only ever a handful that service each region. The only thing that matters to the government in funding Diabetes Canada is that the trucks go out everyday, it doesn't matter what type of person is driving them.
