My experience on my wedding with Mountain Beauties was extremely disappointing to say the least. Hiring Mountain Beauties was my only regret on my wedding day.When writing this review I don't even know where to start. Joanne & co. are unprofessional, have awful communication, no punctuality, unkind, immature, overpriced, inappropriate, the list goes on and on.First when booking my trial, I was assured Joanne would be doing my hair, and come the day, I have another stylist Nikki doing my hair. Both styles that I had asked her to do were nothing like the photos I provided.After trying to get a hold of Joanne over a series of WEEKS, I was assured Joanne was to do my hair for my wedding. Come the night before, our wedding planner had reached out to Joanne, and when confirming that she was doing my hair the next day Joanne said, Oh she still wants me to do that?".The night before our wedding in an email and a call with Joanne

Joanne and the team were amazing! They were professional and personable. They made sure that my girls and I were feeling and looking our best. I'm sure Joanne got tired of my constant texts and emails changing my mind about what I wanted, but you would never know it! My maid of honour has already got them booked in for her wedding next year!

The day started with the hair stylists being an hour late. When the owner Joanne, came to the house, she called my sister another name ( clearly didn’t look at her client list or care to learn the brides name). She was very unpleasant then entire time ( because the wedding planner called her to ask where she was, since she was late from what the contract stated). We were an hour late for photos, which my sister lost money as she was paying the photographer and the contracted time again, was not being followed. The contract stated the times and Joanne tried to say they weren’t late and weren’t longer than they needed to be, in denial about her companies professionalism. In the past, the makeup and hair stylists have always brought joy and fun to the biggest morning of your life, Joanne and her team brought stress and misery. It was honestly awful. Joanne tried blaming the wedding planner and does not take any responsibility for her company. Nikki did our hair stylists and they were awful. I could have done a better job on some of our hair styles. My mother ended up doing her own hair because of time running out and how awful it looked the first time ( wish I had a picture but we honestly laughed at it and couldn’t believe anyone would do a hair style like that, so didn’t take a picture. My poor grandmother missed my sisters first look because we were already an hour late and her hair wasn’t completed. Which, Joanne told my sister in a phone conversation, people don’t bring their parents to first look. AGAIN, not her freaken place to tell anyone that and not her choice, follow the damn contract and hire professionals. The stylists were rude, unprofessional and did not add to the amazing day my sister should have had. Everything else was perfect! Wedding venue, servers, wedding planner ( so there are good people in Canmore) avoid mountain beauties at all costs if you don’t want the extra stress. Sadly, this wasn’t even the worst part of it, when my sister tried contacting them ( finally 3 weeks later) to discuss the concerns of the morning, Joanne was rude, yelling on the phone, not allowing my sister to speak, not listening to the client that paid them over $2000 and still tipped because we were so rushed and late. This is the most unprofessional company and I hope you think twice before having them wreck your wedding as well. Pictures attached are the flower girl, bridesmaid and mother of the groom. I also have many pictures to show the awful hair stylists that were almost $100 each or more. Can’t wait to see what Joanne responds with, because she’s in denial and makes up lies on all the bad posts…..

Andrea did such a beautiful job on makeup for my best friend’s wedding! She adapted a photo I found to suit me and made lots of suggestions, was super efficient and did her best to accommodate everyone’s requests within the allotted time. She is very skilled and does amazing work and she is also very funny! I would totally recommend. Thanks so much, Andrea!

Mountain Beauties did my hair and makeup, as well as my bridesmaids hair and makeup for my wedding this past September. Joanne did the hair, and Nadine took care of the makeup, and we also had an assistant Riley in order to expedite the process.I highly recommend Mountain Beauties as the top tier hair and makeup specialists in the Canmore/Banff area. They are truly passionate about their work, and stand behind it 100%. I did a hair and makeup trial in June (FYI - they do trials on Sundays only at a Salon in Canmore, so I recommend booking well in advance to be sure you can get in). The trial was pricey, BUT they each did 3 looks for hair and 3 looks for makeup to give you multiple options to choose from for your big day. Much easier than just going for one look and hoping it is what you wanted in the end.The morning of the wedding the girls arrived at my home in Canmore and got right to it. My bridesmaids were able to just show a few ideas they had from pinterest, and Joanne was amazing and making their ideas work with their varying types of hair (think everything from fine and straight to VERY long, thick, anc curly), and everyone's faces looked flawless ALL. DAY. LONG. All styles held up well!They also guarantee your style and will come back and fix it if it doesn't hold up (which I don't think you would need).I was so so pleased. I was a bridesmaid at a wedding with mountain beauties and I would completely recommend. They were on time, fast as anything and everyone looked AMAZING! No one looked “melted” through the evening either. Joanne and co were lovely and friendly to deal with. The bride was very happy and I will definitely hire them if I ever get married.

I recently got engaged and chose Mountain Beauties to do my hair and makeup for my engagement photos. I was blown away by my experience and have booked them again for my wedding! Andrea did my makeup and Joanne did my hair and I could not have been more happy! I definitely recommend Mountain Beauties to anyone in the area.

The entire team at Mountain Beauties is absolutely wonderful! From the very beginning with booking their services for my wedding all the way through to the day of. As I'm sure you know, weddings can be very stressful and there are a lot of decisions to make but these wonderful artists helped answer all questions I had and gave advice and opinions along the way, which made my life way easier. I even had a few girls getting ready with me the day of who weren't scheduled to get their hair and make up done and they offered to do more girls! WE LOOKED AMAZING! Very punctual, very professional, and also very fun to work with. It felt like they were part of my big day! I cannot recommend these ladies more. Joanne and her team are Rockstars. I hired Joanne and Cece as my hair and makeup artists for my late October wedding and they absolutely went above and beyond. Both of the ladies were so incredibly personable, wonderful, and professional for the duration of the day as well as the lead-up to same. They have incredible knowledge and will help you achieve the style you are looking for while giving you realistic advice and expectations of how it will wear through the day. They truly exceeded my expectations and left me feeling and looking like a princess on my big day. I would highly recommend hiring them for your wedding hair and makeup services if you want to look and feel your best!!
