Langford, you are in for a serious treat! Jacqui Kaese is a force to reckoned with. Her passion and dedication to her students is amazing, allowing each student to find themselves and become the actor that they are meant to be. My daughter absolutely adores her classes with Jacqui and cannot wait to take more classes and continue perfecting her craft. We love that the kids have the opportunity to not only learn from Jacqui and her staff, but also from other industry professionals who bring different viewpoints into the classroom challenging students in new ways. I have seen such an amazing change in my daughter's passion, enthusiasm and confidence in the short time she's worked with Spotlight and cannot wait to see what is next. Highly recommended!

Anyone can benefit from Jacqui’s classes. She has the knowledge and passion to help guide you down the right path. Spotlight actors are consistently booking jobs and gaining recognition all over the film industry. If you are lucky enough to get a spot in one of her classes or workshops, do it. The training at Spotlight Academy is absolutely outstanding. Not only am I more confident with the mechanics of acting, but the emotional preparation really helps me to imagine myself in the moment an express myself with passion.In particular, I loved the ability to look up the instructors on IMDB and watch some of the films in which they have been credited. It is a really different feeling to watch a movie when I actually know the star.In summary, I feel the experience is helping me to become aware of myself on a whole new level. Being on the autism spectrum, I find it is making a world of difference.

Spotlight Academy gives special attention to its students. They give short yet very informative and very helpful acting classes. I could easily fit their mini-lectures in my busy schedule. Their Director, Jacqui Kaese, really pours into her students. She is so busy with casting, yet she will find the time to answer all our queries and provide coaching and direction. She keeps it concise and direct; as well as, provides us with material to help us through so, there is no wasting time. I loved that!They are very sensitive to making a student feel a part of the group. Their content is well organised and focused on practical situations. I took the Beginner Acting Class with Jake Insley. He made it easy for us to understand a role by using a real-life event as an example for us to relate to a character.This is a good academy to invest in if you are looking at developing your acting skills.

I have been with Spotlight Academy for just over a year. The experience has been transformative. I had been a very active stage actor, but had found the transition to film a challenge. Jacqui and Spotlight are getting me there.Jacqui’s approach is straight forward. You are pushed/pulled to find your voice, your presence. I have had personal growth and revelations, as well as professional breakthroughs . Spotlight is more than workshops. Jacqui offer thoughtful insight through her availability for coaching outside of class. Her industry knowledge and experience is incredibly helpful. She i’d definitely a coach you can trust. Spot light is a welcoming and safe place to study and develop your “instrument “.The experience continues to be central to my journey.I don’t yet know where I will end up but I am enjoying the path. The training and workshops offered at Spotlight serve actors at any level of their career - from the beginner’s basics to workshops with some of the top casting directors around - Jacqui and Spotlight deliver!Not only does Jacqui possess a wealth of knowledge about numerous aspects of the industry, she also has one of the biggest hearts full of passion and love for her students and the craft. If you have landed on this Spotlight Academy Langford Studio page you are seeing the beginning of something so amazing for the film industry in the Greater Victoria area.I have been working with Jacqui for many years up Island and learned so many new skills. The value of her classes and the other workshops she provides is amazing. Casting directors, dialect coaches and other great industry people will be at your fingertips as well.I'm not sure if the introductory classes that are happening throughout the summer on Saturdays are full, if not I'd suggest checking them out. Regular classes start in the fall.

I have been attending Spotlight Academy for over three years and have been instructed by the very best in the film and TV industry on Vancouver Island. I have had the honour to work under Jacqui Kaese, Bart Anderson and Natalie Krill all of whom have extensive experience in acting, coaching, instructing and casting directing in the movie/television industry. They all have numerous IMDd credits, to many to count. I can not say enough good things about the instructors and the other students I have met over the last 3 years. The Spotlight community have become like family, supportive and always encouraging. I have learned so much and look forward to continuing my studies with Spotlight Academy, Thank you Jacqui for all that you do.

Being a student at Spotlight Academy is most rewarding. I have been attending for just over a year now.
