I too had a really BAD experience! If I could give zero stars I would! It was just over a year ago when NARC offered us a foster to adopt option of a 4 mos. old dog, as we were unsure how our pets would be with a new dog. They told us he was good (with kids and other animals) cute and a shy pup, just needed some training. Well, that was not the case. He could be sweet and loving but he was also extremely aggressive with his food and if you had food. He would growl and snap, and bite anyone that had food or drinks. He also kept attacking our dog. Not to mention we picked him up from a kennel where he was being kept and the poor guy had terrible diarrhea for days. I thought it was a bit sketchy but looked past it because this guy needed good home.I called Michelle and explained the situation. She said we could bring him back but she didn't think he was aggressive and she would need to speak to the committee to see if they would honor the foster to adopt (refund part of the adoption fees). Needless to say, they did not! I showed her videos of the aggression and pictures of the bite marks and it didn't seem to matter. Worst experience ever! BEWARE! They are not honest people!

I adopted my little Benji from this site and went back for just a visit a few months later. Both times we were treated in a friendly and intelligent manner. New dogs get shaved if necessary, bathed and treated by a vet. There was a water dish for all the dogs, filled with fresh water. Different dog biscuits were available. The sinks were clean and the animals available seemed contented. They could go outside in the dog run if wanting exercise. Michelle had the proper adoption papers available and gave us a history of the dog, whether his shots were up to date, whether he was neutered, and cute stories about the dog. She even sent his favourite toy along with him. I could not ask for more. In those days the owner of NARC gave most of the care to the dogs. She was a dedicated person who cared about animals and the people that were adopting them.

We were intrested in a dog from here. We live in a rural setting over 1 acre. Experienced with dogs, entire family experienced. Good vet reference. But was told instantly that we did not qualify for any animal. Not sure what the requirements are but we ended up with an awesome new family member from Big Sky. I guess it ended up for the best.

Be very wary of Michelle the owner. She called me to say she had a dog for my family, which of course got my whole family extremely excited, than ghosted us. Numerous texts, emails and phone calls left with nothing returned. Not at all professional on the phone call and actually had us thinking this was a scam. Beware!

I, much like the majority of the fellow reviewers, had an absolutely TERRIBLE experience here.4 years ago (yes, I am STILL appalled), I had called to request to see a dog and was told he was vicious" and they were hesitant to who they would adopt him out to;first red flag. When we arrived

I called on a Sunday at 4:30 ish because the link of the website on google didn’t announce that it was closed... The person who answered didn’t announce themselves as the rescue corporation. I awkwardly explained that I was looking for a rescue corporation and the lady was very rude saying it was off hours and that she didn’t need to announce herself. If you give your number on a website you must assume you’ll have clients calling in all the time. After the major rudeness I said thank you anyways and made it clear I wanted to hang up and then she asked how she could help me... I really hope they don’t treat their animals like they treat humans! I will choose to give my donation to a better rescue shelter!

We adopted Twiggy from narc 10 years ago. We found them completely honest about her character and medical conditions; she apparantly came from a local kill shelter because of her health and narc nursed her to health. Also flexible and accommodating in us spending time with the dog before adopting her. The reason we are back is that we have recently lost Twiggy, thanking NARC community for bringing twiggy to our lives and allowing us giving her back the life she deserved , and exploring other likely possibilities/options for adoption.

Our correspondence occurred Jan 2018. I've dealt with many rescues and this is by far the worst experience I've ever encountered. We made arrangements to see one of their foster dogs and right after we went to see it we asked for a second visit to make sure our pup interacted well. We expressed our interest in the foster over the phone and via email and even wanted to know what the next steps of the adoption process was. Unfortunately, 13 minutes before we were scheduled to meet she sent us an email stating the dog we were interested in was adopted.Just so you can understand how awful our experience was;-we reached out on Thursday to express interest in two dogs. There was little information on the website about them or photos.-we wanted to meet them sooner but was pushed due to snow and Michelle's schedule.-We met the two dogs on Wednesday night at 745pm we left around 830-I called her at 845 pm that same night to make a meeting for our pup because we were interested in the one and we said the other one wouldn't be a good fit. she said she couldn't meet Thursday because of work. We spoke for about 30 minutes over the phone. She mentioned a lady was coming to go see another dog on Friday and that we could go after that appointment at 8 pm-747 pm I receive a one liner email stating that the dog we were going to see at 8 pm was adopted and I was speechless. I asked how she could do such a thing and her response was basically like Oh well we're getting more in March.Although, I can appreciate what she is doing for the rescues and finding homes, typically there is protocol in place. Your references and home are not even checked. You can go see the dog pay cash or e-transfer and take the dog home on-site.I am reposting this as my previous review has been removed. Correspondence occurred January 2018 and I still have the email records.

We adopted Molly (aka: Marley) 13 years ago and she has made a great addition to our family and she was rescued by NARC. I read a lot of mixed comments, especially those really bad ones but for us, we had nothing but great things to say as Michelle (the owner). She keeps rescuing dogs from around the world, where some get rescued from being uthanized (like our Molly did), gets them all checked, treated and then adopts them all for non profit. She could easily charge double or an extra fee just like other puppy adoption due but she doesn't. When you first meet her, you can clearly see that she has a love for animals and only ask for donations for animal food, toys, nice items that you would like to get rid of and sells them to be able to rescue more animals. We would like to thank her for dedication and our heart goes out as we need more people like her more now than ever!Dom, Marilyn and Emilie

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE. Look up the news articles that detail the charges of animal abuse for this so called rescue". We were in the process of adopting a dog and they had her adopted the night we were told they were checking our references. (I had told my vet to expect calls for reference checks so clearly they didn't try very hard to reach them.) Then they told us to just wait a month for the next dogs. As though it didn't make any difference which dog we got even though we had made it extremely clear we wanted that dog in particular. They give you false hope
