High Commission of India, Ottawa

Today I had a visit to High Commission of India.Though I really like India but the people working specially the one who served me today I’m sure she didn’t even go to school for a day. Very unprofessional, Unethical and very rude lady. I really wasn’t expecting these much bad behaviour.And this straightly impacts the impression everyone have from India and Indians.I’m really sorry for India that these kind of people represents you.

Been calling them for over a week, every day. Nobody picks up or replies to voicemail messages. So frustrating.The sampark messages are never replied to. Bms who the work is outsourced to never has clear answers. what is one supposed to do?What a horrible way to make your people run around for weeks just to speak to someone!

I recently visited the High Commission of India, Ottawa for my document attestation while did not like the infrastructure, it was much below expectation the only good part of my experience was Ms. Vaishnavi. She was kind, quick, helpful and very accommodating. All the four stars above is just for her service and dedication. My work was done in minutes without any fuss and with lot of support from Ms. Vaishnavi. Thanks for all the help

Very rude lady is working there and spoiling image of all Indian. The way she was talking is worst, she was not giving appropriate answers of anything was asked to her. No greet no thank you at the end . I asked her am I good to go she replied rudely said why do you have anything else no then leavePoor service like hellWhy High commission hire these kind of people. We are a group of 15 travelling to India, only myself left without a visa. Very bad experience, no response on the phone number, and no response to the online form, as the security guard mention they will respond in a few hours, meant to be a service for emergency, this high commission is the worst in the world for country, I have travelling to many countries around the world and this is my worst experience, taken over 30 days to process a visa when all my flights and hotels were submitted for evidence to see. Digsuting rude staff when you do finally get through to them, when asking for an update I got no response, part from “it’s going to take more time” I insisted if more information or evidence is required tell me.Now that I have lost money on flights and hotels, trying to get my visa cancelled and my passport returned to me is becoming a bigger headache and process. I really do hope you fix your problems.I will never be visiting your country

I had an appointment at the High Commission of India for document attestation today. Vaishnavi was very kind and helpful. My experience with her was seamless. I read the website and came prepared with all the required documents. This reduced my wait time drastically.While sitting there I overheard how patiently Vaishnavi was dealing with everyone. She took time to explain everything which is easily available on the website. She was calm, composed and went above and beyond to help. I have not seen that in other places with similar needs. She did a commendable job! My experience was unbelievably amazing and I’m very thankful for her support.The only feedback is that parking is not provided at the premises and it’s inconvenient to find one.

Hiya. I'm writing here as a last resort/desperate option. Me and 2 friends are heading to India next week. All three of us sent in our applications in October. I got mine within 2 weeks... But both my friends have and been waiting, visa has been processing for a month with generic responses from analysts. Lots of emails and even went to the High Commission in person.We really need help as my friends absolutely to pick up their visas this week (CANOV0327422 and CANOV0328422), my friends would appreciate it. Me too, as i didn't expect to travel alone :(. We really need urgent help...Thanks... Guillaume

I have been contacting the High Commission for a month, and I have yet to speak to someone. All my emails, voice messages and queries submitted via Suvidha were not responded to.My passport has been with the Police Clearance for over a month in India although my family had it cleared the first day. There is no transparency in the process and no way to get assistance. I wish I were in Surrey or Toronto where the service is far superior.**Update**Bumped up a star since the Administration were very prompt when they finally read my emails and extenuating circumstances. The followed up via email and phone to provide assistance.Again, I called and emailed multiple times each day, before I received any acknowledgement.

Terrible service! The biggest ick here is the staff you hire. No training in communication, no proper way of greeting a person or ending the service with a thank you or have a nice day, etc. This particular lady acts like she is still in a sarkari office in India. She was so rude not only with me, but with other people as well. Websites are so messy, can’t find any info easily, always crashing, cheap, so many spelling errors! Just terrible. So this particular lady never has a smile on her face and never greets. Treats everyone like we are lining up in front of a typical Indian sarkari office. Very rude and authoritative in her tone. Sometimes her replied are eye-popping because you will never see public servants talking like that at let’s say Government of Canada offices or any embassies of any developed countries. There is a way to greet customers when you are the face of a representative or first contact at an embassy like High Commission of India. Even if the person is wrong or doesn’t have correct documents, your response shouldn’t be “No, this isn’t right. Can you not see properly with your eyes? This is common sense.” Invest in a printer, even for pay, so that people can print documents if needed because every person at this commission tells you a different thing to bring. Need to check how your staff is talking or if they have any skills to do this job. Absolutely pathetic service by that lady! Like how can you even talk like that with someone? This is just one example. Everytime you come here, none of the staff know how to talk and act. Zero stars if I could. Getting angry at people if they don’t have the correct documents. No need to be angry. Tell them in a calm way so that they can bring the right documents. Everybody is coming with wrong documents because they can’t find any information anywhere. Go to government of Camada website and you can see everything well organized and laid out. Need to invest in a higher quality web developer because my second grade cousin can design the website you guys currently have.
