Couldn't recommend this place more! If you love wolves, dogs, or any animals really, this place is the spot for you! So much information shared surrounding the history of the Sanctuary, and Wolf-dog hybrids and their needs. We paid a little extra and participated in their Introductory tour. I did not regret that experience for a second. Up close and personal with a trio of high Wolf content wolfdogs, along with a knowledgeable guide who have great info and answered all of our questions, all while we can't face to face with the animals. We were even treated to an end of day spontaneous park-wide wolf howl!!! Best moment ever!

My niece and I booked the interactive tour for Saturday April 8, 2023. I am so glad we did it was very neat to learn about the wolf dogs and be in the enclosure for seeing them up close. Our guide was awesome and very knowledgeable, it was a great educational experience. Front desk was very nice and informative on what we needed to know and getting us checked in quickly. My favourite part were being able to feed them. They were very gentle in taking their treats out of your hands. I definitely would love to come back.

Went on the guided tour at Yamnuska. The guide was awesome, she's obviously spent a lot of time with the wolfdogs and knows them well. Was a great experience, and I'm so glad there are places like this that give animals a second chance at a good life. I'm definitely going to go back!

LOVED this experience! It was our first time to Alberta and this was such a cool experience. We did the interactive tour and I would definitely recommend it! The workers really care about the wolf dogs and shared lots of interesting information about them. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved our interactive tour. The guide was friendly & knowledgeable. It was amazing to see these beautiful animals up close and how respectfully they are treated. There is also a fantastic gift shop with many lovely items at reasonable prices. An additional note, the dog & cat treats are a huge hit with our critters!

Absolutely fantastic experience! We did the interactive tour, which we would recommend. We saw so many wolf dogs up close, and had a few take treats right out of our hands. We were able to walk around the sanctuary afterward, and even got to see an additional enrichment activity going on. The space is beautiful and the animals all seem very well cared for. This is a must-do!

Easy to book tickets on the website. The drive is 40 minutes west of Calgary, so be sure to book in advance. Group sizes are small to not bother the wolf dogs. The winter is an ideal time to visit because the wolf dogs are most active, their coats have the best appearance, and they are great to photograph against a white background.I took the introductory tour and enjoyed it because our guide was informative and entertaining. My first visit was around 2012, and the facility has improved remarkably! More paths and a better viewing platform.

We have been to the Yamnuska Wolfdog sanctuary twice. What a neat facility! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There are always fun activities and things to do. This facility is impeccably maintained with TONS of space for these beautiful animals to roam and play. They seem to have more space than the wolfs at the Calgary zoo! We just love coming out for a walk and spending time with these beauties. I got to get some kisses from one of the low content wolfdogs when she was out with a trainer for a public activity. She was so sweet! We’ve taken part in the public howls, so fun!You can tell all the staff love what they do. Just wondering if you can hang out with the goats and other farm animals at all? That looks like fun too!
