Oh wow this place is a gem! The place is clean organized and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. Popped in for some quick additions to our class room fish tank. Was in and out within 15 minutes with 4 assassin snails, 6 black neon tetra and 4 neon tetra to add to our current school. The kids were over joked and spent the majority of the day sitting in front of the 20 gal admiring our new pets.

Some fish stores take care of their fish. Nestor's isn't one of them. Not only are they the most over-priced LFS in Winnipeg, but last weekend they sold me 5 galaxy rasboras that were infected with Velvet. Three of them were completely emaciated when I got them, it looked like they were starving to death. One of them died on the first night (water parameters attached). Two more died the next day. And now the rest of my fish (which I bought healthy from Fish Gallery) are sick and my tank is crashed. I will NEVER shop here again.

Great selection of fresh and salt water fish. Good place for plants and all the accessories you could ever need.If you are looking for Arrowana or flower horns, this is the place.

Pro: good selection of fishes, friendly owners and staff members, honest and helpful, fishes are reasonable priced, fishes are health.Con: not the best place if u are brand new in fish keeping and did not do ANY research before u go. On very rare occasions I did noticed fish with ick, or tank mates attacking one another. Some products were also over priced.Conclusion: if you are a experienced fish keeper, or u can bring a knowledgeable friend with u, Nestor’s would be a great fish store!!

Good selection, clean and the plants/planted tanks look great.However, I would never ever add of their saltwater fish to my system. Fish often have ich and recently I noticed worms coming out of several clownfish.Very over priced, easily 25% higher than local competitors.

Wonderful store. Great selection for planted aquariums! I've purchased decor, fire red shrimp and otocinclus, extremely happy with the quality. I happened to be purchasing a 2.5 gallon for some plants at the same time as the otocinclus and they asked if I had a tank for them, I really appreciate when stores confirm that you have an appropriate setup. Looking forward to my next visit.

Best pet store in the city. Nestor and his wife along with his employees are so helpful and kind. There isn’t a pet store I’d choose over Nestor’s- as far as aquatic pets go.

Was not impressed with the tone of voice I was greeted with by the owner on this trip to buy two new birds. Due to a previous negative visit to the store a month prior, the owner approached me and proceeded to yell and later accuse me of reporting his store to the WHS. Which for the record I did no such thing. I reluctantly purchased the birds I was there for, and I'm sure he will be happy to learn, I will never do business there again. Very unprofessional. I will say his shop is clean, the fish look good and his prices are reasonable. Just don't get on his bad side.

Always welcoming and friendly staff. Fully stocked on fresh water and salt water species, from tiny tetras and shrimp to stunning arowana showcases. Fully stocked with all the supplies anyone would need for keep their fish happy and healthy. Definitely worth a stop for any fish keeping hobbyist! Plus they have stuff for keeping birds, small mammals and reptiles!
