I wish there was a zero star! Very low quality and poor customer service. Not recommend them at all

Too bad I cannot put 0 stars.Beware of their Insurance. You will probably not get covered as it happen to us. Weak link in the chain. Read small letters and numbers carefully. I would never ever advice to use their services to anyone. Moreover the only good rating here most probably of their own.Strongly recommended to avoid!!!

My experience with Portgage La Prairies edmonton alberta adjuster has been more than frustrating. My business sign was hit by lighting in August and at end of December I was finally provided a cheque to cover the costs of a new sign which was payable to the wrong company. I paid over $14,000 in monthly fees while insured with Portgage for over 12 years and you would think the least they could do was settle up for a lower cost sign replacement o which I agreed to (a savings to Portgage of over $2,000). I will never do business with this insurance company with any of my companies or personally in the future

Worst company to ever buy insurance with, stay away if you can. Their adjusters never respond and when you call them and ask a question they want to call back but never do. Customer service is on a whole different level, and the entire company should be educated on how to handle customers requests without putting them off.

This year Portage Mutual has almost doubled the price of my business insurance, even though I had no accidents or other issues. This is appalling and I hope to get the word out to other people.

We were with them for over 17 years, money was tight for a payment, we went over to talk to them about it to let them know and they decided to cancel our policy. Then they charged us for the cancellation.

BUYERS BEWARE, these are not very professional and I would not recommend.After the recent storms and winds in Winnipeg we had shingles come off the roof on two sides, the shingles were 15 years old, we called PM who we pay $4k plus a year to insure our home and was told we are not covered fully and they would only pay to get it patched. The shingles do not exist anymore and cannot be matched. When the roofing company, our Broker also told them it cannot be done all PM said was not our problem and only obliged to patch according to some sub rule, we was then told that if rain got in and did any damage we were not covered.This is typical of insurance companies when it comes to having to fix or pay out, then we are told that their investments are down so are clamping down on claims, is that our fault? What do we pay insurance for if not covered for these accidents?We are at present taking this further with the ombudsman to make Portage Mutual liable for the repair, that’s what we pay the cover for.The inspector who came to check the damage will not answer calls, emails from us or our brokers. Scam comes to mind, BUYERS BEWARE, these are not very professional and I would not recommend.
