I can not recommend cowichan canine enough! Friendly, professional, knowledge and extremely helpful. They were very accommodating when I could not attend the 2 socialisation classes and allowed me to continue attending past the alloted time frame. It is a well controlled environment that has been a great help in socialising a new puppy

Wonderful instruction. Paula is that magical combination of excellent at training and reading dogs AND very good at teaching people. A rare combo. Classes are well organized and structured. 10/10 Would highly recommend.

Our handler was not helpful, rude and just trying to make a buckOur paid evaluation" that was postponed for 3 weeks consisted of us waiting for 30 minutes in the cold while the trainer brought out stuffed animals and a doll throwing treats at our dog even though our painstaking application outlined that the behavior in which we needed help with was our dog struggling with anxiety indoors around strangers and men.Afterwards

We brought our dog to Cowichan Canine to help us better support his socialization and were very happy with actionable advice and info we received through the Behavioural Evaluation and subsequent private lessons. We saw swift and lasting results! Thanks so much!

I took the Puppy Start Right Program with Cowichan Canine in spring 2021. Unfortunately, I withdrew from this program when my puppy was 14.5 weeks old (it goes until 16 weeks) because this program was a negative experience for my puppy. I would caution anyone with a sensitive or working breed puppy to think carefully about this program prior to enrolling.This program and Cowichan Canine failed to meet my expectations of a structured puppy socialization experience and professional business. Instead, this was akin to taking my puppy to the local dog park and allowing him to run free for 30 mins and hoping for the best. Pushy puppies were allowed to practice rude behavior, while shy puppies or those who needed space had their boundaries consistently disrespected.The trainer was discouraging and unable to offer assistance when I asked for help. I felt very unsupported by the staff at Cowichan Canine in general for the duration of this program, even as I reached out with them to try and talk about challenges I was experiencing with my puppy. The trainer was unwilling to set up an environment where all of the puppies had a chance to be successful.I have provided Cowichan Canine with a detailed review of my experiences and concerns. They did not contacted me to follow up about the feedback I provided, or to try and talk to me about the struggles I faced in this program.I will give them 1 star because the swag was the best part.

One of the best things I did while I lived in Duncan was to take my dog to the experts at Cowichan Canine. in fact I still go even though it's an hour's drive from Sooke. It's a happy place for both of us!

My partner and I enlisted the help from Cowichan Canine to try and help with our newly adopted dog that was having some reactive issues. Due to COVID our first session" was online and was not of much help due to the fact that we were instructed to watch youtube videos on subjects that we had already researched and viewed trying to mitigate the problems ourselves. Our first in person session was several weeks later where we showed up to the nice and new facility in Cobble Hill. Our dog barked at the trainer when she exited her vehicle and she was instantly afraid of our dog. During the two hours we were at the facility

I met Lisbeth about 3 years ago when I brought my then 2-year old Great Dane female to her to have a behaviour/temperament evaluation to see if she would qualify to go into training as a therapy dog and that day really was the inflection point of the relationship between myself and my lovely girl, Raven. We didn't pass the test! So after seeing to the wounds of my injured pride, I reached out to Lisbeth for her professional opinion on what we did wrong"
