Sandra Dee Furniture Refinishing

I brought in a solid wood chair that had big crack in a back leg above the seat area. Michael was SUPER nice and did an excellent job of fixing it, saving our chair and saving us the time and expense of buying a whole new set of chairs!! Thank you, team Sandra Dee!

This is the second time I have used Sandra Dee Furniture Refinishing. The first time I had them refinish an heirloom stool from my grandmother. My dad had repaired the stool leg incorrectly and I asked Michael to please ensure he did not fix the leg properly as the mistake made the stool that much more special. He made sure the mistake was there when he put the stool back together! We called Michael regarding our very old and much used mahogany dining room table. One of the legs had broken. He came to our home to give us a price to have it repaired. He explained what needed to be done and how he would repair all the legs not just the one. While here we asked about refinishing the table top and 3 leaves. He explained how he would refinish the table top and leaves. He told us the table was solid wood and good quality. He gave us a price for both repair and refinish and a time frame. Unfortunately, due to COVID he was unable to pick up the table when promised, however, he did call ahead of the date and explained the situation and gave us an alternate date. The table was picked up on time and the pick up was easy with no issues. Michael kept us informed regarding the fact that due to the weather (it was really humid) he could not finish the table top in the timeframe quoted. Once the finish was completed the delivery was on time. I had many questions about the care of the table and Michael answered every question and explained the reason behind each answer. The table and leaves are absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I do not want to have a table cloth on the table as I just want to enjoy the beauty of it. We also asked for a recommendation to have our dining room chairs recovered and Michael was able to recommend someone and we are very happy with our newly covered chairs. I would highly recommend Sandra Dee Furniture Refinishing. Michael is very easy to talk to and he is happy to spread his vast knowledge.

I can't thank Michael enough on the fantastic job he did on the refinishing of our red- brown China Cabinet to white. No one can believe that the original colour was red wood. The white came out so beautiful. We are extremely happy with the results.

Being fortunate to have furniture passed through my family for over 100 years, I was reluctant to have it refinished. Owner and craftsman, Michael Lehikoinen spent considerable time working with me to understand my needs and explaining the process. His knowledge and professionalism were totally reassuring. The dining room suite of pedestal table and leaves, side board and 6 chairs left our home a much used and well loved 100 + year old furniture and was returned in breathtaking condition. Michael had repaired and refinished the pieces to perfection leaving their character intact. The furniture will live to tell its story for another 100 years, with thanks to Michael’s talent and expertise.

This is a long time coming review as our work was completed back in March, but because I get reminded every day when I look at our furniture of how beautiful it is now compared to what we had I got the push I needed to write a review. I was very skepticle throughout the process and I am usually not easily pleased when it comes to esthetics but Michael was very informative and accommodating of my vision for our furniture. And I can confidently say that the work that was completed, was done so with a lot of attention to detail, and Michael went above and beyond to help me achieve my vision for our furniture. The product we have now makes me believe that it was completely the right decision to refinish our furniture. Thank you to Michael and the rest of the team for the excellent work.

Oh my gosh, we feel like we just purchased new furniture! We had 2 end tables and a coffee table refinished, with quite a bit of surface damage. Michael just delivered them and we can’t be happier! They look brand new! His process for selecting colour is amazing. He invites you to his shop and does test stripes of different colours on your actual piece so you know exactly how it will look. Now that is great customer service! We went from shiny espresso to a beautiful on trend, satin walnut shade. If you have good quality furniture that needs a refresh I highly Sandra Dee.

We have a beautiful secretarial desk that was passed down to us. But this sentimental piece of furniture needed some TLC. I’m so glad we came across Sandra Dee! From the get-go, the experience has been nothing but positive and the outcome even better! The care and attention to detail was very reassuring plus the desk is just beautiful!
