Habitat 67
Very interesting architecture but private property. Because of this you're not allowed to walk through the area but only look from the curb side. Still worth the little trip to the other side.

Habitat 67 offers two things: fascinating architecture and a wonderful view on the skyline of Montreal. We didn't join the guided tour of the apartment buildings, but also without a tour the excursion to Habitat 67 was amazing. Habitat 67 is a good 45-minutes-walk away from Montreal old town. I recommend to combine the visit with a walk over the Pont de la Concorde towards Île Saint Helene and Île Notre Dame. The location is a bit difficult to reach via public transport (take bus 168 and exit at the bus stop Des Moulins / Pierre-Dupuy" - from there another 15 minutes by foot). Habitat 67 is a "must" for every Montreal traveller."

The outside of the building is gorgeous, but I'd recommend joining the guided tour which is the only way to see the inside. You get to take the elevator to the top floor, then go inside one apartment owned by the architect, hang out on the terrace, and finally you'll walk all the way downstairs back. My tour guide also introduced interesting background about the building, how it was built, design considerations, the architect Moshe Safdie, etc. The tour is well worth it to me even though it's a bit pricy.

The tour was amazing! They tell you lots about the architecture of the building, walk you through the three parts of the complex, and the views from the sample apartment (that you get to check out, too) are very unique. Highly recommended!

You walk around, and look at weird buildings - good times. It's a great way to spend the morning - strongly recommended! But don't expect to spend too much time here. Maybe 10-15 minutes. I didn't do a tour, or go inside or anything. It's private property and that's fine. If this is your first time in Montreal or you are pressed for time - you might want to avoid this place. This was my 3rd trip there, and I ran out of things to see - so I walked here for fun. You can also sort of see these buildings from Old Port, so if you bring a camera with a REALLY good zoom.. you can get photos that way!

They have just realased an official daily tour in English and it is certainly something to look for. The tour is educational and very amusing. We were guided by Kathleen - a former resident of the building, who takes her job with pride and does her best to make you feel comfortable, while providing explanations with huge pride and historical details of the place. This is a rare architectural asset. One that although extremely interesting, is hard to see nowadays, making it a one of a kind. The history behind it is very rich and will make you walk out of the there powered up to accomplish your goals.A must go in Montreal!

We really enjoyed our visit of Habitat 67, which we didn’t know they were doing, it was a nice surprise. The local guide was very helpful in his explanation of how Habitat 57 came to be. From the 67 World Fair to the mind of a brilliant, and a young man, who had a vision of the future and the pitfall of our modern societies. My only suggestion would be to revise the tickets price, it’s a bit expensive.

There’s a great bike path leading here. I saw it from Vieux Port and wanted a closer look. You can’t go in, but it’s so neat just to look from the outside.

We did a guided tour through the facility and it really explained a lot of the history and reasons this building exists. Its a fascinating structure and is really worth exploring with a tour if interested.
