I've been a member of Lewis/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Barrie for about 7 years now and have my children enrolled there as well. It is an excellent jiu-jitsu school for all ages, with fantastic facilities and a great location for us in South Barrie. This is a great outlet for fun, exercise, and learning self-defense. They also offer zoom classes, which are great when you are rushed or the weather is less than ideal! Trevor and Sandy are wonderful people and we appreciate them in our community.

The difference in my son since starting Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Barrie with Mr Louis has been incredible. He’s on such a good path since joining over a year and a half ago. I had been wanting to try jiu jitsu for awhile and finally decided to start checking out some places. I had read that many people get frustrated at the start because they are constantly losing until they begin developing their own skill sets. This was actually not my concern, I fully accepted this was a necessary part of the process, however I knew the key for me was finding a school that had cultivated a training atmosphere that encouraged growth and camaraderie while not tolerating 'meat head' behaviours that put people at risk of injury, especially white belts just starting out.I knew after my first few classes I had found exactly what I was looking for. Trevor took the time to take us aside on our first class to show us the basics and introduce us to the school's general philosophy and way of doing things. He then made sure to pair us up with senior belts during lessons who could further guide us and continued to do this until we were comfortable enough to navigate this process ourselves.I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the school so far, I've personally always found great people through sports and this has been no exception!
