After hearing all the buzz we tried The Springwood for dinner. Absolutely charming atmosphere, with delicious food. We loved the family style dishes so we could try everything. For me the posette was a standout as it was perfectly balance combo of tart, sweet and savoury. Their menu is seasonal so we can't wait to see what comes out next! We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful restaurant!!! new favourite, go-to spot!! the food is out of this world, and local at the same time. The cocktail menu hit all of my favourites. The restaurant staff are second to none, friendly, timely, and make you feel at home. The restaurant ambience pays attention to every detail and makes it amenable to a Tuesday stop for oysters with friends, as well as a night-out treat, very versatile setting! woke up dreaming about the food this morning, and looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to chef Matt, Jasmine and the whole restuarant family for delivering on such unique and intuitive dining experience!

Absolutely blown away by this place! This is by far my favourite restaurant in Whitby. I love the farm to table element. The decor is warm and inviting yet elevated. The food was amazing and not pretentious. The staff are incredibly friendly and the drinks were great. What a gem.

First time visiting The Springwood - everything was wonderful. The ambiance is lovely, the owners delightful, and the food was incredible. We shared a number of dishes and loved them all. My favourite was the smoked trout dip. My husband loved the Cavatelli and the wild salmon was delicious. Highly recommend - it wont disappoint.

The Springwood is a wonderful place. My husband and I were blown away by the cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and happy to accommodate our party’s dietary restrictions. And speaking of the FOOD! Do yourself a favour and order the “Come For Dinner” tasting menu. You will not be disappointed!

Incredibly unique experience. There is nothing like the Springwood in Durham. If you get the “come over for dinner” tasting menu, you will truly experience the chefs creative use of tastes, textures and ingredients.

“Toto, I don’t think we’re in Whitby anymore!”The Springwood will make you feel like you’ve ventured to Toronto for a meal, and this gem couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Honestly, doesn’t it seem to take longer to get into the city with each passing year? I’m thrilled to have a restaurant of this calibre in town, and I’m looking forward to being a regular. The service was friendly and welcoming, and Chef Matthew takes local and seasonal seriously, evident in the food, cocktail, and wine menus. All of the dishes that we tried were exceptional, and I can’t wait to go back to sample the summer menu. The stylish interior is inviting and refreshing, so unexpected for an end unit of an east Whitby strip plaza. Care has been taken to create a rare blend of hip and orderly—nicely done, Jasmine and Matthew, and thanks for coming back to your home town!

Ok, so I never give a five star review, however, justified here! Nothing short of spectacular, the food, wine, atmosphere and of course, the staff!Without a question, the best food in Durham! It has a very Montreal feel in atmosphere and food.We had the peel and eat shrimp which were buttery soft, fresh, ultra savoury, leaving you wishing for another 20. Oh and the bread to drag in the sauce, sexy!Mains - spiced pork chop and beets. Simple right, nope. The chop was perfectly cooked and blushing with crispy Chicharrón…I want to eat this every day. Locally sourced, spiced and seasoned perfectly. The best pork I have ever eaten….and I’ve had a pork chop at Au Pied De CochonThe beets were lovey, finished with a béarnaise and a delightful scattering of fresh herbs.Excellent selection of fine spirits and wine.Best food I’ve had in Durham! And yes, I’ve dined at all comparable restaurants.The new it spot!
