Places like this don't exist much anymore. Very deep and detailed shelves of magazines for those of us that like to hold something tangible when they read. I'm old school so if you want to see, and touch real paper magazines this is the place. They've been there for years and years and definitely know their clients tastes and preferences.

Centrally located in Halifax. A must go to - for a fun day adventure of just buzzing for the new mag to entertain your day!

Travel back in time to the days before the Internet. Before 2005 you could go in to many stores like this and find 50 magazines about your favorite topic. Lots of nice local cards and a good selection of Canadian junk food. Staff are all lovely. Don't miss it.

Used to buy a newspaper almost every day in the store . Would browse through some magazines & buy a magazine once a month. That was when the original owner ran the store . Bought a chocolate bar in the store & walking down the St. I decided to open it . It was moldy & just disgusting looking. Checked before date & it was 3 years old . Haven't been back since.

Wonderful old fashioned REAL newsstand. The only thing missing is a rickety old screen door (the kind that creaks from rusty springs whenever someone uses it). HUNDREDS of magazines; many you never knew existed.Also candy, soda pop, newspapers, tobacco, and a really swell proprietor who noticed that one of the mags I bought was Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Digest (which I didn’t know still existed), so he turned me on to the Russian Sherlock Holmes, told me to look for episodes online, and how the actor who played him received an honor from Queen Beth, she admired him so much. Also scary historical WW2 Russian film “The White Tiger” (on YouTube).Great place to stop in and browse during your walk, out for an early cup of coffee. It was like a nostalgic, hypnotic trip back to my childhood, circa 1976... like a cool breeze on a warm summer morning... if you at all get what I’m saying here, you’ll LOVE this place. I’m going back next week for any new arrivals I might want before moving on to Lunenburg.The only real downside I can see is the 2019 prices for magazines nowadays : though it broke my illusion of “days long passed”, I perfectly understand, even support, the price hike to keep all these periodicals going in this age of smart phone technology and instant information. ~Just put your hand in your pocket and pay up - I don’t think ANY of us wants to live in a world without magazines or the last remaining newsstands that sell them.

These guys have the greatest collection of magazines, most of which you can’t find elsewhere (unless you order online, of course). I could easily spend hours in here if I had the time. They’ll also order something in for you if you really have your heart set on something!

This store has the best magazine and newspaper selections in the city! They also have great greeting cards by local artists, a small grocery section is very convenient. Great hours as well.

If you're looking for a hard-to-find newspaper or magazine, this is your place!! Everyone is really friendly and the store is well organized and easily accessible. It's kind of a legend around these parts and has been around a long time.You could really browse here for hours and learn so much about current events or any number of topics that you might otherwise not be exposed to.There's a separate adult section in the back, but I haven't been there yet because I actually know how to use the Internet. In private ;-)

Best magazine shop in Canada and most of the US. Just so you know, it's more than magazines. They have a limited supply of books and will order in publications.
