I loved my two night stay here, so much! While it may seem like a basic accommodation, the property is spotlessly clean, even the shared bathroom and showers were very clean and well supplied with fresh towels every time. The included breakfast is simple but much appreciated, but most of all, I found the staff here very kind. They do have a check in time and I arrived later than that due to my flight delay, but the staff stayed later to wait for me to check in! I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful building, delicious breakfast, loud hallways, cold rooms, and excellent showers!There quiet hangout rooms are a great addition.

We stayed a night for my son's winter wedding. Everything was perfect. The auberge itself is magnificent, our room was charming and very comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. 5 stars

The Oka Abbey is a beautiful historic building that has been very well taken care of. You can tell there’s been a lot of love put into this property!That being said, the historic elements of this property also make for a bit of a rustic travel experience, ie, one without the modem comforts that you’d expect out of a hotel. But I do think the pros vastly outweigh the cons.Pros:- Beautiful historic building- Nice staff- Very clean property- Breakfast was excellent (I saw some comments in here stating that the breakfast was a letdown but my partner I love dit! Excellent croissants and of course Oka cheese)Cons:- I think the price is a bit high for what you get- When you pay extra for a private toilet, there’s no door separating the toilet from the rest of the room- Most rooms aren’t air conditioned and are HOT- No private showersOverall it’s a unique and pleasant place to stay if you’re in the Oka area!

Visiting from New England with my service animal. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. The entire place was very clean and breakfast was delicious. There is a great path to go explore a national park nearby. The hostile had great history and so many cool features to it.

Great place, amazing space with a view! We really had a nice experience, rooms are cosy and everything is clean with a serene vibe. The shower space has good lighting and everything is available for people with mobility issues.So beautiful, with the historical details about the monks who used to live there and original furnitures and everything. Very calming. Perfect for a retreat!

This venue is absolutely perfect for a wedding!The rooms are ok but they aren't too expensive so it was worth staying there. The showers are in shared bathroom and the toilets in the room aren't closed-off. The breakfast was good too,

I wanted to love this place, but the small things throw me off. Check in between 2:00pm and 5:00 pm only? Really? They have to get some kind of system in place.No restaurant Sunday to Thursday? Again, what?! I know times are tough, but it makes staying during the week less interesting.Note: when I arrived, a couple of staff passed by me but did not offer to get someone for the front desk. Some staff training is needed. (But everyone is friendly). Doubt I will recommend to friends, or return. Beautiful spot though.

We loved our experience here!Room is basic in terms of interior and decor, but it has all you need (and even some extras like robes), bedding is super comfy!Staff are friendly and helpful.We only wished we could have a guided tour on the premises.Few things to consider to avoid disappointment:- book only if you are ok with shared bathroom, it is a hostel after all;- as it is a former monastery sound travels here a lot, even though guests are mostly respectful.- make a reservation in the restaurant ahead of time, it gets super busy on weekends.
